RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Dometic furnace combustion air

This is pretty interesting. I have the Suburban furnace. It also takes in outside air. Suburban furnaces installed in recreational vehicles are classified as Direct Vent Sealed Combustion Furnaces. A forced draft furnace utilizes a sealed combustion chamber which is vented to the outside...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Coffee Snob Stuff

Looks like some good stuff. I was just thinking about a coast trip, get the dog out of town for News Years Eve but everything is booked up (what I get for waiting for the last minute). Maupin is just a bit far for an overnighter though :)

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West From propane to diesel, a heater installation

I've given up on trying to convince people a propane furnace doesn't add moisture. In the hardest rain I've ever been in moisture began seeping in past the stitching in the top. Only took a short amount of time running the furnace to completely dry everything out.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Shore Power Lithium Charging

My IOTA with the lithium dongle will charge my battery in just a few hours. I've never needed to reset my Trimetric since installing the lithium battery. At least it seems to be function correctly. Hard to know for sure :)

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West For the Fans of Highway 50

I've never seen this one before. Thanks for posting it. Just in my short driving career I've seen 50 change a lot. Its much straighter than it was when I started driving the road.

Okay, not acoustic but this just blew me away.

Just the water heater or both? Probably just the water heater.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West stopping in at FWC or ATC

FWC has events where people are invited to camp there so I'd guess they wouldn't mind.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West FWC Electrical basics and upgrading to lithium!

I was a little disturbed to see Will Prowse suggest a 20amp DC/DC charger after I already installed my 40amp unit. It sure does charge fast. A trip to dog park charges my battery right up (from an overnight dishcarge). I've been happy with how my 250w of solar does. I guess I need a trip to the...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West BIG changes to FWC's video

I think it would work for me but no way could I justify the price. I think FWC felt the pressure to compete with OEV and others. Many have complained they are behind the times. Its a tough situation. Everyone complains about the cost but they also want all the amenities. Catch 22 for these...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West BIG changes to FWC's video

I think two 135ah batteries would run ac long enough for me. Mostly I just want to cool the camper down before bed. Definitely not enough if I were visiting the South. Someone that spent most of their time in campgrounds with power would probably get their moneys worth.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Free for a reason- Hawk restoration/renovation

Just one. I didn't want it to happen again. It was shortly after that that FWC came up with their own reinforcement. Also part of the reason I don't go with the stronger turnbuckles. I'd rather replace a turnbuckle than go through the repairs again.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Free for a reason- Hawk restoration/renovation

You definitely want to reinforce the turnbuckle brackets on both sides.

For those in the South it will probably be worth it. I think I'll get a few more years out of my camper.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West BIG changes to FWC's video

Wow, the engineers have been busy. I'd love to hear the story about how they finally got Truma. I'm really curious to see just how much weight all those options add. I have to be careful. My 401k has been going up but not quite that much!

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Current Spike in Gas Prices

I'm debating on whether to head down 395 or head to the coast. No snow yet but I'm assuming night time temps along 395 are pretty chilly.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Current Spike in Gas Prices

Sadly I was excited to see diesel drop below $5 a gallon here. Crazy its still a dollar more than gasoline.

I also use the simparica trio. I haven't seen a tick since I started using it. Even better they mail it to me monthly. Very convenient.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West FWC Electrical basics and upgrading to lithium!

I don't think its that. I've had a drain on the truck batteries for a long time. I'd need to disconnect the second truck battery, Pull a terminal off the battery to measure amperage and hope nothing goes fubar when its disconnected. Then spend a few hours pulling fuses hunting down the drain. Is...

Well I was correct. After disconnecting the 10ga charge wire I'm only down to 93% SOC.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Anyone changed out the water tank for a smaller one?

What the heck? Do they actually check your build sheet? If not how would they know it DIY?

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Anyone changed out the water tank for a smaller one?

As I get older and have the opportunity to stay longer in one place I may very well regret it.I'll check the build sheet. Maybe it isn't a 20 gal tank as I've always assumed.
