I saw them using water drops to start an avalanche. Never heard of that technique before.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Reservation.GOV is not the government.

I miss the days when FS employees ran the campgrounds. New outfit last year at Antelope Lake. Instead of smaller trash bins at each campground they had one huge one I could barely toss a sack into. Poor camp host couldn't even keep up on toilet paper. First time I've seen a camp host in a tent...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Jerry Cans - The secret Weapon

My Jeep's cans certainly aren't leak proof. Reminds me I need to order new gaskets. I'm kind of surprised the gas cops haven't pulled me over yet.

Yes. In my camper that goes into the cabinet below the sink. There is an additional L bracket behind the jack bracket that bolts to the can carrier.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West External 110v plug

I have an inverter and mostly use it for the coffee grinder and small chargers. Never once wanted to plug in an extension cord though I could see it for running power tools if you had a project. Still probably not worth the effort to install an external plug.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Jerry Cans - The secret Weapon

Mine has no penetrations through the skin. Bolted to the jack bracket and the two bars underneath. I've carried it full for years (probably don't need to) and absolutely no issues carrying the weight.

Wouldn't happen to me. Says the guy who'll take off hiking in tennis shoes, leave the gps and inreach behind and carry a single bottle of water. Riley is a good dog but he's no Lassie either :)

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Spring thing

I'm not at all sure sunshine would be a good idea right now. Wait until the atmospheric river rains come down on top of the snow. A lot of roofs are going to collapse :( I can see some pretty bad flooding happening downstream. Could get very ugly.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Onboard Spares

I have a catalytic heater for backup. Rather deal with moisture than be cold if it came to that. The stories I'm hearing seem to be not so much a design flaw with the heaters but a large batch of defective parts. That and the location of the sail switch tends to get dirty quite easy. My old...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West 10lbs propane tank weight

I've also noticed its getting more difficult to get tanks filled on the road. Strange because within a mile of home there are at least a dozen places that will fill.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West 10lbs propane tank weight

Kind of interesting. There are some that say propane weighs 4.2 lbs per gallon while others list it as 4.7.

Thankfully its been rare for years now but we once had fog for a solid month. People got seriously depressed not seeing the sun. I'm okay if that doesn't happen again.
