RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Cutting off outdoor flaps on older camper

I use my shovel to lower the flaps. Hook the top and pull it down. Are they necessary for most rain events? No but I have been in thunderstorms where they were definitely necessary.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Whats a good portable propane camp stove?

A five dollar yard sale coleman with the propane conversion works for me though I usually just use the grill.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Best All Terrain Tire for Snow

Yes it is. Why I hesitate to recommend a tire. What works for me may not work for you. Those of us with Diesels aren't likely to see great mileage due to the weight. I also figure my taste for tight twisty roads don't help either :)

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Are load range E tires really needed for camper?

Installers usually inflate to whatever the door sticker says. Always pays to check when you get home.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West To buy or not to buy

The wood is in the lift panels. I wouldn't want to replace them but plenty here have. Likely you'll need to reseal the roof. Not a big project. You have the skills I'd say go for it. You'll wind up with a really nice camper.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Going electric for heat only, seems simpler & renewable

Quiet dry heat. Nothing not to like about electric heat. I'll even use it on those rare occasions I plug in. Just not practical for us.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West 4 Wheel Camper Cybertruck plans

Right now I can hop in my truck and go. Don't have to plan if I don' t want to. Not going to be the same for an EV. More power to the early adopters though. Someone has to get it started for it to get to the point someone like me would be interested. Solar charging might even work for some of...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Are load range E tires really needed for camper?

Yes, E rated tires can still have problems. Ask me how I know :) You're in the right place. I'd guess a majority of us got tired of sleeping on the ground. Funny how it becomes less fun as we age!

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Screw replacement

Quality seems to be an issue. I'd say 90% of my screws are fine while the other 10% show signs of corrosion. Did FWC mix some batches? I tend to think its a mfg issue. Unfortunately I don't live at the beach so I'll just have to accept that corrosion isn't much of an issue for me :)

My Carizzo Plain Rally pics are part of the photobucket disaster unfortunately but as I recall we camped South and West of the campground in a nice open area. Here are the trip reports. https://www.wanderthewest.com/forum/topic/12112-carrizo-plain-wtw-spring-time-rally/?hl=%2Bcarrizo+%2Bplain

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Low Cost Mods

I decided to add a soap dispenser next to the water drain. Saves opening the door and getting everything dirty. Sometimes water alone just doesn't do the trick. The bottle is plastic. Will it last bouncing around? We'll see down the road. Just under twenty bucks. Can we pin this one? Took...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West 4 Wheel Camper Cybertruck plans

I suspect those range numbers are pretty optimistic. Tests on current vehicles show range drop dramatically when towing or hauling heavy loads. Not for me just based on looks :) Now give me an electric Jeep and I'd be interested!
