RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West It is New Year's Eve 2022!

SMUD had about 150k customers out at the peak. I somehow got lucky and wasn't one of them. I did go for a drive. Pretty impressive flooding. Not sure which fork of the Cosumnes this was. Ponding everywhere. Numerous road closures. Probably need to check my wheel bearings and fluids now. Near...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West It is New Year's Eve 2022!

highway 16 was closed due to flooding. I was concerned the road might wash out before I could turn around. It is quieter than normal. I'm sure that won't stop all of them. Looks like the storm has stopped for now. Until the next round. Happy New Year.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Happy 2023

Stormiest New Years I can remember. I usually take Riley out of town for New Years. Not this year. Lots of highways closed. Somehow I got lucky and my power hasn't gone off. My dog watcher lives near Wilton, She got interviewed on Ch3. I took a drive this afternoon. Ponding everywhere. Cosumnes...

Trusting the dealers to have his best interest at heart was his mistake though I can understand thinking they knew what they were talking about.

Thankfully my truck doesn't have a catalytic converter. But!!!!!!!!!! Do not scroll down if you don't want to read a real cat story with an unhappy ending. Thump your hood. Regardless of your feelings for felines. At my brothers company a cat enjoyed the heat under the hood until...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Is there is a thermostat for below 45F?

Not sure why it lists 230v. You won't get a digital readout but it does show temp with a manual little pointer. Accurate? Not really. I'm done with replacing batteries at 2am. Its worth not having a digital readout to gain reliability. Yes, just two wires. A big plus is the on off switch is...

Fog has returned to the valley. The cold just seems to go bone deep. Worse than it if it were actually colder. Be nice to see the sun again. Gotta love people who won't listen. You made it. Yes but I'm driving a Jeep specifically designed for offroad use and I expect and don't care if it gets...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Anybody retro fit their FWC with jack mounts?

Mine have a dozen screws each. I've been very careful to never touch them. I'm afraid they'd never tighten up again.. Does look like it should be fairly easy to attach them. Mine look like they have butyl tape behind them.

I saw one of those crash vids from back east. Seems they don't like chains there. Even the plows were sliding around. Never seen a plow without chains in CA.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Cleaning solar panels

After washing with soap and water my panels still are very hazy. I'm tempted to clean them with alcohol or rain x but I'm not sure if that is safe. I'd ask the manufacturer but heck, I don't even remember who I got them from anymore. Sure wish I kept a log of everything I did on my camper and truck.
