It's on the Navajo reservation. Access is on the south side where Indian Service road 13 cross the dike extending south from Shiprock. The roads can be rough and impassable if wet. Fortunately it's open with no restrictions that I can tell but I always try to be discrete and keep a low profile.

I've been there in November, it can get a little cold at night. I have 5 sleeping bags 45, 32, 20, 0, and -22 deg. I would rate for 20 deg. Southern NM in the winter is usually nice with short sunny light jacket days and cold nights.

My dometic fridge has a little plastic latch with two positions. One to keep it closed while driving and the the second position keeps it slightly open when the fridge is off when parked to keep dry and free of mold. Maybe you can contact dometic or an RV supplier...
