Prototype done- protective “Bra” for front of cabover

Sorry for your moisture intrusion. Sucks. For sure this type of protection would discourage or eliminate driven rain, moisture, etc. The PVC vinyl used was selected for durability. You can tape the seems as well. Stretch material sounds great but may not be durable. Outdoor Gear Guy will...

Prototype done- protective “Bra” for front of cabover

Ok. First test flight in the books. On my way to go flying, it wasn’t 1/4 mile down my road and a “thump thump thump” erupted from above. At 20mph the thing starts beating on the roof from pressure changes. I pulled over and took it off (10 seconds. Super easy on and off) but Alas, back to the...

Prototype done- protective “Bra” for front of cabover

I just got on the ladder and hit it with 100mph blower from many angles, straight on mostly. Definitely could be tighter but there was no flapping. I think the dimensions could be shorter specifically the length doesn’t need to be as long. Just enough to pass corner radius.

Prototype done- protective “Bra” for front of cabover

Airflow, flapping, abrasion. Thought of that too. The camper does not have a camber like an airplane wing so I’m not sure if the top will be a “low pressure” area which would create lift therefore flapping. I haven’t driven it yet but I hit it with my backpack blower (wind tunnel test. lol)...

Prototype done- protective “Bra” for front of cabover

I know there are only a few pictures, but if anyone cares to chime in with design ideas/improvements so next Gen will be that much better. I’ll kick it off: 1) Attachment/tie down anchor: maybe a brass grommet to support a bungee cord to first buckle. It doesn’t require much tension to assure...

Prototype done- protective “Bra” for front of cabover

Bugs, rocks, driven rain, leaks? Well no more! Hopefully. Well the first Prototype is here and installed. Overland Gear Guy and me knocked out a Gen 1 Bra that went on in under a minute by me, a solo operator (wife wouldn’t help). Initial impressions are good. Snug fit with full coverage of...

    FWC mattresses are bricks...

There is a custom mattress company that attends the Adventure Van Expo Series. I saw them at the Tahoe, CA event. They were top notch, professional and had a great booth etc. I did explore their product but didn’t order for some reason. Maybe $$. They were the only company I’ve found that...

    Leaky Hawk

Consider a couple of more turns on front turnbuckles to snug down. Also, I’m developing with Utah Based Overland Gear Guy a waterproof “Bra” for front leading face of camper to deter driven rain and insect splatters.

Thanks Stan. I just called them. No Grandby inventory. Is the corner radius and thickness/height the same on Grandby and Hawk?

Help! Any Grandby owners in Salt Lake City, UT area?

I’ve got a great idea for a product for FWCs. It’s a “bra” for front of cab to eliminate that annoying bug build up on roadtrips. The product is for all models but needs a template for each model. I need a Grandby to visit The Overland Gear Guy to have him measure for the template. Let me...

    Drop down outdoor shower tent

I’ve got the Pitch En-suite on Grandby. https://quickpitch.com.au/our-brands/quick-pitch/quick-en-suite/ South African. Best quality. I’d upload pictures if I could figure it out. I can send pics to anyone interested.

New thermal pack: quilted with lower window covers

I agree with seeing in your own new backup layer like wool or synthetic. Probably $100 in seamstress labor plus material. I’m annoyed that I missed the “under bed storage option” by a year. I wonder if my resale value just went down?

    FWC aluminum siding UV protection

If it’s storage in between trips, get a tarp. I’m garaged but wash and wax after every trip. Spray wax or a good paste or liquid with known UV protectants. Maguires. I even wax the roof of camper. Keeps sap off etc.

Broken Fridge Door Catch - 2021 Isotherm CR130EL

I have sane frig. 2022 Grandby. Wife broke ours first trip. I brought it up to FWC service manager during a visit and you have to take frig out. Bad design. Should’ve been metal. Haven’t needed it off road. There’s a black plastic slider under front top lip of frig. It has two positions...
