RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West On winterizing…

You can’t close the Hot Water Inlet Valve during normal Operation. Per the manual. You’d end up using all the hot water in hot water heater. It would never replenish. So you could be running hot water heater with zero water in tank. Not good I hear. Also. I always start out with a full 26...

Heat water heater and dump back into water tank? As in, use outside shower hose and open water fill cap and spray hot water back to 20gal tank?

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Solar panel installation

Dan at Quality RV Solar. Professional. Super experienced. Knows FWC. I did not use the Reno guy. He rubbed me the wrong way. Dan did an outstanding job on my 2021 Grandby. 200 watt Zamp solar panel, Dual 100 Battleborn, Victron, alternator wiring upgrade, etc. He’s in Penn Valley, CA...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Possible 4 Season solution for water, pipes, tank

Yeah. Cabinet doors open won’t fly. Unsightly, in the way and dogs get into trouble. Indoor shower has drain to exterior, double MaxAir fans take care of condensation. A sleek 12 volt flush mounted fan directing air to vital bits is compelling and easy but would it be enough. We live by...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Possible 4 Season solution for water, pipes, tank

I have to admit, I’m a bit disappointed that our Grandby (and FWC fleet in general) is not particularly suitable for temps south (north?) of freezing. We knew what we were getting into once we blew off a Lance hard sided 4-season camper and shifted focus to FWCs. Agile/ low profile form factor...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Suggestions on cleaning stains on pop-up material?

What about “Black Streak” cleaner I see for cleaning black streaks on. RVs, etc? Whatever Black Streaks are. Diesel/Highway grime? Too harsh for FWC? Any experience?

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Suggestions on cleaning stains on pop-up material?

Thanks to all. I do protect with 303. I will try 303 cleaner. Living with stains probably best. Hard to come to grips because rig is so new. Wonder what stains are from. Desert dirt? Thanks again.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Suggestions on cleaning stains on pop-up material?

Any recommended cleaning product out there to clean stains on pop-up material? I’ve tried soapy water, rag and elbow grease but stains are winning. Thanks.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Anyone replaced front dinette table with Lagun hardware?

FWC table does not, in my opinion articulate as best it can. I have to fiddle with it too much to my satisfaction. I’ve played with Lagun Tables at Van Expo etc. and it moves in a superior manner than the FWC table. $199 is “big bucks”? I’m open to better where possible.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Anyone replaced front dinette table with Lagun hardware?

Anyone upgrade (is it?) front dinette with Lagun system? I just feel the FWC OEM articulation can be improved on with aftermarket Lagun. Thanks

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Where do you get water refills on road trips?

For drinking water: In our Grandby we don’t worry about drinking water. We use a Zero Water pitcher for cooking and drinking water needs. Flush system once every 3 months. Running out of water is another story (haven’t yet). Others have outlined collecting water in the wild so I won’t...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Power Tank mounted to FWC

Thanks Stan I want to keep my wall steps as is. I think jack bracket best. 10lb tank with bracket is 26lbs so I think right rear jack bracket can take that weight with trail abuse thrown in. Steve at Power Tank offered up a solution but requires fabrication on my part to integrate his Power...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Power Tank mounted to FWC

I’m going Power Tank (CO2 based) instead of ARB type electric tire inflators. Has anyone successfully mounted a Power Tank (I’m going 10lb size) and appropriate Power Tank bracket to the FWC jack bracket? Steve at Power Tank has been very helpful but he has no interface for their bracket to...
