    Tire Surprise

I'll second the motion on checking the spare for pressure and working loose from it's mount. Earlier this year after a number of trips over very rocky roads found our spare hanging quite loose.

    Neowise Comet

What a superb landscape context to view and shoot the comet!! I'm sure that was a great night out under the stars. I couldn't resist either after a few weeks of looking at other photographer's experiences on various social media and photography websites. What I most enjoyed was just sitting...

Warner Lakes Basin - June 2020

Also check out Hole in the Sky. It is IMHO Kittredge's best work about this part of the world. Worth the effort for sure. I can't spend any time in the vicinity of the Warner Valley (frequent visitor) without thinking of his history there. We have mined many great quotes from this book to...

    Height when open?

Side opener might do the trick. What is the overall height of your garage ceiling? Obviously a bigger truck/tire combo will make a difference. I think on down the road if we get a full size truck, at least we will be able to pop the back.

    Height when open?

Went through this just a couple of years ago on our own big remodel. Long story, but had to give the architect a max height number with a deadline looming and had no way to easily ascertain the opened height of our Fleet on Tacoma rig(middle of a bad winter with lots of snow). I took a quick...

    New Boat

Great to get out with you MBC - Fortunately you were not around to document my inadvertent capsizing at the boat ramp even though you did manage to capture my less then flattering posterior as we were leaving the lunch beach....

    CPAP Question

I'm finding it hard to isolate exactly how much the ResMed unit actually uses but seems like it's in the neighborhood of 10-15% of battery for a typical night. I need to pay more attention to use and see how the humidifier affects the power draw. Hard to predict what a typical night of use was...

    CPAP Question

After looking at the costs involved in a more portable and expensive CKRAP machine I decided to just spend some of the money on upgrading our battery/PV system on our 2016 Fleet. I have a ResMed Airsense 10 for home so I just picked up the 12v adapter to give it a go. The 2-12v-agm batteries as...

    Self Quarantine Things to Do

Still in my PJ's so I'll jump in on this. Karen and I went out to the Metolius for a short hike earlier this past week. I was reluctant to break the our quarantine but some out in the wild time seemed to be needed. Had the river pretty much to ourselves for most of our hike but on the way out...

Have you ever had a tire blowout?

Hey MBC - Just wondering if you had to replace the wheel and if you had to replace all of your tires while on your trip, as I know sometimes the wear on a spare is just enough different to upset the apple cart, so to speak. Assuming the other 3 tires have the same age/wear issues??

    How many nights in 2019?

I always see this end of year post but never have thought I had much to contribute till this year, my first as a newly retired dude. We were able to get two semi-extended trips in this year - JT/Anza Borrego/Organ Pipe/DV in late winter and then this past fall a great trip along the eastern...

    Fall Leaf peeping map

We were just over in the Hart Mountain NWR area over this past weekend. Color is just starting with aspens and riparian zones. Not pegging the needle yet but still pretty nice. Mostly in the 6000'+ elevation but also in the lower elevation canyons on west side.

    Yikes! Total Canon Sell Off

I picked up a Fuji XT-2 for same reasons. Lower my pack weight and a more portable system for travels. I'm still hanging on to my Nikon and will probably always have both systems at hand. When shooting from the rig/camp it is nice to have the full frame unit. I love shooting with the...

post a *PIC* of your latest purchase (can be anything as long as it is for your camper)

Looking good Mark - I wanna hear about your adventures under the sink. I'm thinking a new faucet is on my horizon also. Now that I have an actual garage (first time in my adult life), I'm considering some upgrades also. Cheers -

    Used Camper Alert Thread

Posting this for a good friend. He doesn't spend very much time in the cyber world so just helping him out. 2018 Hawk mounted on a 2017 Chevy Silverado. Both are in excellent condition with very little use. Hawk has been out 3 times and the truck has around 3000 miles. He is anxious to sell...

    Anyone ever had a T100?

I had one for about 5 years. It was my favorite Toyota truck and I have had a few over the years. Wished they had continued making them. If you can get one in good shape/low miles, grab it.

    Trout Creek Mountains, Oregon

Thanks for the update on the Oregon Canyon/Trout Creek Mtns. I really enjoy reading about your travels. Both areas are high on my list but have been a bit reluctant to visit since the big fires of 2012. Part of the allure for me has always been the scattered thickets of Mountain Mahogany. Here...

Reccomendations for a better camera strap?

I have had this on all of my NIkon DSLR cameras for about the last 10 years. Very comfortable and does not slip around on your shoulder/neck. Very handy if your monkeying around a bit to find a shooting location and also very secure with the metal buckles. http://www.upstrap-pro.com/

What suspension upgrades do you have?

2009 Tacoma TRD - RideRite airbags, Rancho 9000 adjustable shocks, KO2 E-rated tar's, had rear springs rebuilt at Deaver's recommendation in Portland at Oregon Spring and Suspension to keep truck at approx stock height to carry approx 1500#. I run my airbags around 30-35 psi when I'm fully...

Since this thread has been brewing for quite awhile, was wondering if it is time for filtering a consensus. :P Or maybe I require another cup of Joe.
