RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Mounting Recovery boards

This was pretty simple - 1.5"x1.5"x1/4" aluminum angle. Drilled for the layout of the Yakima tracks. Excuse the finger in the closeup - Easy enough to reach from the rear door.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Jiffy Pop

Dang! Bad news for us JP enthusiasts. Might have to revert back to just popping in the pan as per home. My Stir-Crazy would require an inverter....

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Jiffy Pop

I'm a longtime Jiffy-pop enthusiast going way back to my backpacking days. Always keep a few tucked away in the FWC in the narrow cubbyholes in the back of our pantry cabinet. Thanks for the warning on supply chain shortages!!! I'll keep my eyes out for possible hoarding maneuvers  .

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West 2017 Grandby with 2018 F250 - Reduced price - Seattle area

This is not my rig, I am posting this combo for the family of a valued member of the Oregon landscape photography community who passed away very recently. Interest and inquires should go directly to the family with the contact info as I don't have the camper in my possession. I just know that...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Help me Understand Trasharoo bags

Never thought the idea of having it hang around outside would be very workable. We try and keep our trash pretty compact and on trips where garbage service is few and far between I've been bringing along a dry bag to put our small trash bags into and stuffing that in our turnbuckle area till we...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West New Pop-up Campers!

My next door neighbor here in Bend was in Colorado a few weeks back so did some investigating of the camper manufacturers based there. He recently came into a little "mad" money so plunked down a deposit on the SuperTramp. I should be able to see it in person in about a year. Looks pretty sweet...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Ocean to Idaho

Happened on this environmental film just a few nights ago on our local Public Broadcasting channel. Looked intriguing at first glance then as the credits were rolling to begin the film we perked up when I saw Four Wheel Camper listed a one of the sponsors...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Lighthawk's New Truck For Their FWC Hawk

I'm sure you have considered the options but on our big remodel in 2018 I considered a commercial type roll-up door to avoid the issue of clearance for track and motor. Figured in a pinch I could recess the roll-up door into the joist space above the door but the one big issue with the roll-up...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Firestone Ride Rite - inflating questions.

I've had a set of Rite-rites on my 09 Tacoma for about 11 years. Always just inflate via a bicycle pump which I always bring along with our kit. With my beefed up rear springs and shocks I only need about 30-35 #s to bring the vehicle back to level, measuring to top of wheel well plumb through...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Memorial Day Weekend

Anticipating the onslaught we met a small group of friends this past weekend out in the hinterlands. All was calm and we loved the rain in the desert. We'll hunker down this weekend and enjoy the homestead once again.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Well it's time to get rid of Winter and onto Spring

We got out for our first "Spring" trip this past weekend. Figured a good Covid-escape would be to do some more volunteer work for our local desert protection group - Oregon Natural Desert Association and later on in April for the Oregon Dept of Fish and Wildlife. They need warm bodies to count...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Call of the Wild

It's a conundrum for sure... Glad to hear you are not abandoning the FWC and the entire idea of non-luxury camping. Seems like there are a few members on this site that have multiple rig arrangements for whatever suits their fancy. I know a number of friends that think even going the FWC route...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Advise needed from Tacoma owners

I've had no issues with the Tacoma, 2009 with 2 different campers since 2010. I was a builder pre-retirement so my truck did double duty as a weekend recreational vehicle plus 5 days a week ferrying tools and lumber with a steel rack up until about 2 years ago. I initially just put Firestone...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Phone photos

My newer Pixel 4 has a feature called Nightsight which seems pretty slick under the right conditions. Decided to give a try last night with our backyard illuminated by a combination of a fire-pit, LED light strings along the fence in the foreground and of course the waxing moon soon to be...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Purging the water system for Serious winter camping

My take on this is I open drain valve as we head home before I leave camp. The rock and rolling of the truck combined with the long drive home seems to do a really good job of purging the system. Of course I open faucets and valve from water heater to main storage tank. Based on how rough the...
