    Remounting the Alaskan Top

Yessir, all great points and solid insight! Thank you. I was thinking more in regard to how one actually lifts the top into place. How have folks physically lifted their Alaskan's newly built/rebuilt top half from its build location to remount it onto the lower half? I can recreate that...

    Remounting the Alaskan Top

A question for the group: For those of you who built a new top for your Alaskan away from it's base, how did you remount the top? I only have a few tasks left to complete before remounting my Alaskan's top shell to its bottom and have been thinking about how best to do that very task. I'd love...

    Any Alaksan's in Calgary, Alberta?

I *believe* that that's part and parcel to the changing of the guard over at Alaska. The street is talking about design flaws (like the seal issue your friend ID'd) and that these are at the front of the line via new specification(s). It's apparently not only colors, rebadging, and new marcom...

    Painting Alaskan Camper Badges

Here's a pic of the bottles and "brushes" used. Zooming in will provide actual color names and codes if you're so inclined to match them up. Good luck!! https://www.wanderthewest.com/forum/gallery/image/24962-testers/

    Hydraulic Pump is blowing Fuse

I don't know about Alaskans boondocking, but... I understand that our Canadian brethren just swap out the hydraulic fluid for hot maple syrup on chilly evenings. Or, at least, that's the story I'm heading into town with. ;-D

    Hydraulic Pump is blowing Fuse

Cowgirl, I don't have an electric lift sys on my Alaskan so I'm only theorizing here, nevertheless... I think I'd troubleshoot as follows: 1. Verify electrical lift mfr stated draw against installed fuse, 2. Verify wire sizing per mfr, 3. If #s1&2 are correct per mfr, test actual 'peak' draw...

    Where NOT to park...

For nearly 4 hrs I cleaned the sap droplets from the to of my Alaskan. Boy howdy, they didn't want to come off. Sufficient elbow 'grease' and a modicum of 409/Brillo pad action, and... Its 99% sap-free. To quote a prior President, "A teachable moment." What I've learned: NEVER...

    Upgrade Running lights

Sounds as though some continuity testing would sort out the wiring issue, while directly testing each light off of 12v will tell you about the lights themselves. The... there's the less than optimal ground situation. I'm just completing a complete top rebuild and decided to string ground wires...
