RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Folding/tesescoping Shovel

I’ve carried an avalanche shovel used by skiers and mountain climbers, and finally got to use it. We got stuck in the powder past Eureka Dunes, and the shovel worked great. It wouldn’t work as well in hard ground though.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Rear suspension mods needed for Hawk Shell on 3/4 ton truck?

If your state allows, weigh your truck before and after the camper is installed at a weigh station. Weigh each axle with the trailer. Then decide with this information and the change in height someone else mentioned.

Julie's knees are impressive. My knees hurt just thinking about it. On the Big Grill: when buying our truck, they definitely advertised that the model year had a bigger, better front grill. Frankly, I'd never looked at truck grills before (being new to trucks, not something thought about), I...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Buyers regret?

The front dinette, I believe, costs more. Hopefully you'll only pay for what you ordered. Anyway, it's hard to know exactly what you want until you've used it. Maybe you'll like it a lot. I remember analyzing all the possibilities, and now I think that it doesn't matter that much. You still get...

It's possible the ancients needed the electric blanket (solar power, Victron, lithium, etc.) while hanging out in their blinds. It was hard to find a propane dealer in those days. Every time we air up (sometimes when we air down), people stop to check on us. Sure glad you had the right solution...

May I add that the ski3pins are delightful companions on the trail (or off) and in camp. They suffered through some fruitless searches on our quest to find ancient artifacts, with nary a complaint. Then again we had some great luck on another day. So it averaged out ok!

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Tipping angle w/ camper?

By the way, a Tacoma has about 63” width between tires. So 20 deg is about 23” hight difference. Call it 2 feet. I think I can judge that better than angle.

Thanks for the cable answers. So was there a part number or another place to start at Pasternack? Or is calling the only way? I assume you said you had "x" truck in "y" year with rear view camera... etc. We installed our camera at the bottom of the camper, which works. But not great because the...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Zamp port, Zamp panels and solar battery connection prob

In ours, there were wires in the battery compartment for the solar connection, not connected to the battery. You have to be careful to wire to the right posts. Zamp is opposite other brands… anyway look for those the ask again.

Did you weld or purchase the aluminum bracket? I made one from aluminum that’s much more crude, but the aluminum has worn and it’s getting loose.
