RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Hellwig Pro Series on Silverado

The only down side i see is the limited adjustability to raise the rear a bit higher if desired. They do have some adjustability depending how much you adjust the pre load on the U bolts. In my case the Hellwig raised the rear 1-1/4” with the Grandby on. This leveled the truck camper nicely. I...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Hellwig Pro Series on Silverado

First welcome to the club! Yes you will need some rear suspension upgrades. Bags pro’s: adjustability customize the trucks stance and improve handling. Cons: THEY LEAK the rubber quality in recent years poor at best, they do effect the overall ride without the camper, warranty will not cover...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Porta Potti deodorizer recommendations

I have a Thetford 565e we use Happy Camper treatment for the black tank portion. I treat the valve seal regularly and empty and re-treat the black tank every three days. I still smell some odor while the valve is closed. Any products to treat the fresh tank with for more odor control? Also any...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Hellwig Big Wig bags leaking

Update on Hellwig bags. After considering suspension upgrades for my 2020 F-150 I installed Hellwig 2500 lb helper springs. And love the product. After consulting with Hellwig they informed me they were discontinuing air bags from their product line up. I can understand why the bag quality was...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Timbren's on F150

Our local spring shop installs them and has a high regard for the product. As longhorn1 stated nothing to leak and I don’t believe they effect the ride when the camper is off. This is the right forum to ask for suspension advice lots of experienced guys with the Ford trucks. Personally I have...

Very sorry to hear of your recent bad experience. The sad facts are predators are everywhere in society in numbers. And our culture has changed in recent years to acceptance. It is not ok to treat you or anyone else in such a way. Situation awareness as others have said is your best friend. Your...

It’s been one year since the purchase of our Grandby. We have been on several great trips and we couldn’t be happier with the purchase. I have been dialing in a few mods to make camper life easier and more enjoyable. This project goal was to make the seat back so it would stay in position...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Do We Really Need Sun Protection?

Ski, interesting read on the subject. I worked construction my entire career and saw plenty of sun. Annual dermatology Dr visits have been all good to date. Also my fishing addiction exposes me to magnified sun exposure. I always wear SPF rated clothing head to toe while on the water. I think a...
