    This old Granby build

What he asked. I've almost convinced myself to overhaul my Grandby and want/need to do something to my lift panels. I'm convinced some of my canvas wear came from it pinching between the lift panels when popped down. I'm wanting to consider your approach.

Keystone Rebuild - Narrow Floor Pack, Redo Interior, Paint Exterior

I hope this is one that gets saved in the "Builds" thread. I'd hate to see it lost in the sea of FWC threads.

Keystone Rebuild - Narrow Floor Pack, Redo Interior, Paint Exterior

Wow is the best explictive I can think of. Very nice redo indeed. This is going to make me look at my old Grandby wit a certain amount of contempt. I hope this referb gets archived in the "Builds" thread. I'd hate to see it lost to the sea of FWC threads. Thanks for sharing.

What's your go-to lock lubricant for your camper and truck locks?

Go graphite. Cheap, you'll lose the tube before you use it up and dry so won't trap grit.

Canada's Caribou Region With Four Wheel Camper

Uber Cool Video. Thank you. Like N'Kwala, thanks for the trip down memory lane. I lived in the Methow Valley of Washington state for several years and always thought the Okanogan/Caribou/Quesnel River Country just got neater the farther north one went.

Where do you go when you gotta go?

Compared to some of the stuff I see dumped on our local BLM lands around here a flaming bucket of poo would garner very little interest from anyone. Stench not withstanding

Where do you go when you gotta go?

I'm a behind the bush/over the log/in the hole practicioner typically. I'm not above using a handy Romtec on the rare occasion I camp with one located nearby. I do have an old, (like most of my stuff) Dometic portable. I don't know if they make portables anymore. The only time it makes the...

    Site Team and Administrator Endorsement

A bit of background: I recently experienced an ongoing denial of login when trying to access Wander the West, (WTW). Trying to make contact with the WTW mother ship via the embedded Outlook Messanger resulted in delivery errors. Basically I'm up that well known tributary without a means of...

"New" Roamin Chariot on my Tundra

Though the Chariot has not been produced since about 08 or 09 the business that made them still has an address in Spokane. The following phone number may get you what you need: (509) 209-1502 Good Luck

    Emergency/Comm Radio Solo Camping

Also covered here before, the cell booster option: http://www.wilsonamplifiers.com/rvs-mobile-homes-1/?sort=bestselling I use one and it does get me a signal where I have too few bars to complete a call or intermittent bars.

    1st trip for 2015...

One weekend just to say I "got out" to the Metolius River. One weekend to the John Day River to Steelhead fish with my father. The trip while enjoyable demonstrated I need to overcome my laziness and do some upgrading to the Grandby. This is the Metolius, Photo courtesy the USFS:

Does anybody use skid plate or rock sliders

Skid plates yes, brush guard yes, sliders no, at least not yet. Yup, another sign of pending doom. Skid plates as options on a 4x4. ;)

    Fishing gear questions?

If I'm tempted to overpack anything it is fishing stuff. Nothing against Tenkara I just have a collection that takes a concerted effort to manage already. Always have a lightweight spinning rod handy. It will handle up to about 1/2oz lures and is fine for most NW trout, bass and jetty fishing...

    Outdoor shower worth it?

Don't have it in my Grandby, did in in my motorhome. On demand hot water is one of the very few things I miss about it. The shower part less so than the water for dishes and such. That wrote I don't think I want to give up storage space in the camper to get it.

    Southern or Central Oregon

What MarkBC said :) Although winter has yet to show up here excepting a few days in November, spring vs summer vs fall usually makes a big difference to what is available and how comfortable it will be.

    WanderTheWest Expo Overland Group Camp

Somewhere on here is a writeup from one of the "regulars" on here about their exerience from a few years back. Don't remember from who or how far back. I'd guess at least a couple of years ago. A search of the threads may get you the write up. I did a quick and dirty one and only came up...

    Patching Roof

If you are planning to remove your roof in the near future and if you are looking for something good but maybe temporary may I suggest: http://www.eternabond.com/?click=4813 I actually have used it as a final fix and can say it does work well. Our local RV shop sells it by the foot in 3 or 4...

FWC uses - Other than camping

-It's been a team center a few times when my boys were of youth sports age. -It was my house for a little bit while I did a remodel. -My brother used it as a guest room for his wedding. Mostly used for camping though.

I hate to encourage MORE tourists to Bend, but...

I drank beer and cheered on my friends whom applied said graffiti. I also gathered cattle where homes now sit and ate at the original Bond Street watering hole, Arvards Tavern which is also a distant memory.
