Kinda tough to ski Hoodoo this year so far: http://www.bendbulletin.com/home/1580566-151/hoodoo-not-open-yet-waiting-on-snow Yes let us all be careful in our travels. While avalanches are iconically associated with skiers, any travel or occupation of areas where snow, terrain and weather...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West bolt down vs. tie-down

Several use the outside the bed systems, myself included or I should I did as I'm currently/temporally between trucks. I used the Happijack system with the rear tiedown buttons mounted to the bumper. I should mention my Grandby is older and didn't have the front access ports to correctly do the...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Hey fishermen, how do you carry your pontoon/u-boats on your FWC?

From idahoron: "The problem I worried about was not so much the weight of the pontoon but the wind." First of all posting photos of Sturgeon larger than anything I've caught in a very long time I'm certain is against the forum rules! Nice fish thanks for the photos. Second of all I've been...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Hey fishermen, how do you carry your pontoon/u-boats on your FWC?

I don't have a pontoon, I've got a float tube. Someone on here posted about a fold down carrier that plugged into their receiver a long while ago. I can't seem to find it now. The neat thing I remember about it was it folded down so you could open the door. I'm going to guess though that their...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West The most stupid people on earth or just a$$holes? Post your opinion.

Where I come from your gear spotting alone would have indicated the site as occupied. If their gear and its deployment suggest experience then poor decorum was displayed by them. As poster Taku mentioned I too tend to avoid campgrounds but last time I visited a mainstream National Park...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West New to the Forum: Considering FWC Hawk

They are still kinda the rage with the Westfalia crowd and at least one RTT mfg puts together a portable for use with their tents, or maybe it's a teardrop trailer mfg, I don't remember. http://westyventures.com/propex.html http://www.propexheatsource.co.uk/ Hope your 6 month plan comes...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West packing gear inside - Eagle Shell

I've got a full on Grandby, old but still full on, and still use a couple plastic totes I set out when parked. Storage has been to me about the only down with my FWC. Of course my Sons, a.k.a. the crap magnets, are getting older, thus it's less time with the three of us. When it is the three...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Annoying Flap

If you go over to the ATC spot on here and read the pinned thread on pop up care and feeding, one thing mentioned is going around and tucking in the corners extra to prevent premature wear on the liner. I"m X6 or 7, mine will get a spot out on the front requiring tucking from time to time.

The Atwood, Suburban, Hydroflame or whatever is now installed both exhaust and pull their intake air from outside and of course use electricity to run their forced air fan. RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Camper storage

When I unload mine I put it on 3 full width stands that are really just 3 short saw horses. I do leave the jacks down also. I have a cohort in camping who put his Keystone on a Harbor Freight type trailer to roll it under his carport when not in use. Worked well actually.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Ok to store on raised jacks all winter?

Ok I've learned something. The spell check is probably a browser function not a site function, thus why I can't find a spell check function on the toobar thingy above my lines of type. I use Mozilla Firefox usually, and whatever the hotel has set up as I type this. Thanks for the reply...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Ok to store on raised jacks all winter?

I would go with something under the floor in addition to the jacks if you can. If your car isn't too wide maybe a couple of 4x4's across the floor to saw horses or other supports that run paralell(sp) to the camper and thus your car hood. While the jacks should hold it up without issue weight...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Camper storage

As I live in a "Rustic" town I have a rustic garage, known as a dilapidated shed in more modern parts of the country. It houses mine when not in use though I use mine year around but less so in the winter. The big need for me is keeping the snow from piling up on it in the winter and the sun...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Camper Side Impaled By Tree Branch

I'd guess a call to FWC and a couple bucks would get you a piece of scrap you could cut to cover the outside, then follow the goo and rivet approach as mentioned or if the idea of rivets showing is unacceptable then metal epoxy the patch on. Of course the repurpose idea is a good if you have a...
