Getting tired of this 40 year old heavy fridge and thinking about pulling it out and going with a "modern" chest style on a slide out, any thoughts? maybe the stovetop as well.
my opinion is not like most here, the old cushions may be cute and original blah blah, I go for simple and comfortable if you are a "restorer" then by all means do what you must. Please advise your son to pump only as high as to expose the holes wherein you can stick the pins. Live and learn...
excuse the condition/rust living on the west coast I tend to go "rustblind" You can find these on Craigs or Ebay/Amazon. I find the Reico website has great prices, Welcome aboard! I have a 8' cabover because I live in a big city and like my tailgate in the closed position.
One part like a HD "L" shape angle iron attaches to the camper the other side attaches to the bumper and an adjustable spring loaded rod connects them. They are commonly called tie-downs.
Best MPG I ever got pulling a 22ft Airstream was 18.5 in a one ton GMC van 6.2 diesel from SF to Santa Barbara, the current 1995 Ram
2500 diesel with a 76 Alaskan CO not as good One 36 Gal.tank=500 miles
tee-shirt $1.50 (ross) fabric paint $4.00 (art supply store) I am still not quite happy with the outcome.Cost about $1.60 total OK stop laughing (chuckle) Just been busy closing down the shop and retiring.

I have been doing this in various rigs for the past 5 years. Just BLM outside Quartzsite, It will be my first time in the Alaskan CO It's a rather large gathering of rtr and many other groups .
Welcome, wow quite the thread .Very sorry to hear what your going through. I have a 76 CO besides some dents stains and even small broken skin The last thing I was expecting to read was this thread, kind of disheartening . Last time I checked for leaks just the small amount of old water stains...
OK,,,, WOW a few things to consider here, I may just take my own take and see if anyone is interested. I will talk to Brian and I like Green . Stepping on no toes here, thanks for the input.
