RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Had the FWC stove recall done

When was your camper made? Ours was built in May this year with the SDS2 stove (although component sheet calls it a 333AST), visually looks to be the same stove as the recalled version, but not sure if our stove is affected. Contacts with FWC service so far not yielded a confirmation.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Are load range E tires really needed for camper?

OP Update: Well I figured I'd bite the bullet early while there are fewer miles on the original tires in the hope it will make them easier to sell. Yesterday I had installed a set of Michelin defender LTX 275-65R20 based on consistent high ratings on the things that matter to us. I got a...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Are load range E tires really needed for camper?

thanks for all input. RE TacomaAustin's suggestion on taller tires I did a quick search for 65-70 offerings, and using this cool tire size calculator I found https://www.calculator.net/tire-size-calculator.html it looks like the diameter of the next size (65's) for my 20" rims would put me...

Thanks ! I had to read up on what a CAT scale was but it looks like that is a good option.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Are load range E tires really needed for camper?

Thanks for replies, all good thoughts. I'm pretty anal about weight counting, we are coming from a lightweight long distance backpacking background and are moving up to a more solid roof than a backpacking tent in our (older) age. Got tired of sleeping in puddles and drying out tents and...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West How to add shore power to shell model?

Nevermind I found on a the Noco site a pic that shows in detail there is an inline Noco proprietary connector to the alligator clips, so with the xconnect adapter above makes connecting to SAE simple. But not very cheap :-)

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West How to add shore power to shell model?

Thanks again all. I like the permanent ring terminal hookup idea also. The 6v battery setup I am getting has the mini terminal posts along with the larger posts so the rings would connect to the battery no hassle. Hard to tell from the pics but it looks like the Noco genius 10 charger...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West How to add shore power to shell model?

Thanks for all the responses. I see the point and simplicity of just using an extension cord into the camper by some means and then plug either an automotive or specialized charger into that. I was a little concerned about connecting the charger just directly to the battery terminals in that...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West How to add shore power to shell model?

I have a '23 Hawk SHELL model on order, it has propane heater and stove option but nothing else. I didn't realize that it has no shore power like the more dressed out models and I thinking I will need to connect to shore power to keep batteries maintained over long winter storage periods when...
