Well our first night of 7 is on April 24 at Tuweep CG and I would appreciate any good sources of current road conditions [wet is issue] going in from 59/389 on either 5 or 109/115...in 2020 in early March we could not get into Tuweep due to rain/snow and mud....adventure is fine, getting stuck...

Correction on my previous post: Not Kodachrome Point but Photographers Point [10,350 ft] , it gives a great view of Wind River Range to the East...trailhead is Elkhart Park Trailhead; paved from Pinedale [14.5 mi] I believe trailhead is at 9,500 ft.

Take Hwy 50 and not 80...lots of places to "disperse" camp, less traffic, calmer, and beautiful vistas...take time to sight see at Austin and Eureka on 50. In WY....go to Pinedale and drive up to Wind River Trailhead, camp in small CG or in huge parking lot....hike up to Kodachrome Point.. Eat...

I think you need to talk to someone else at FWC.... "altitude might be my issue" does not answer the question....6K is nothing...and we have used our '16 Hawk appliances at 11K with no problem... Perhaps somebody on the forum can suggest a tech at FWC to answer your questions...Stan?

Not sure how far South in Baja you are traveling....if near Bahia de Los Muertos take the road out to it.... fantastic place and great diving....several years ago but road in was of course dirt but in good shape...North of Cabo and SW of La Paz...

Got the link and thanks...my question is what if any FWCs have the stove with aluminum tubing or more specifically the stove with the apparent weakness which resulted in an explosion? Is the tubing a stove manufacturer weakness or does FWC using this tubing?

Not good, but do any of the FWC propane appliances use aluminum tubing? To be fair I believe the "RV" explosion was not in a FWC, correct?

Can you elaborate on why/how it created an explosion? Extent of explosion? I read the NHTSA description of suspected cause but it did not make much sense to me why this would be limited to only this model of the stove.

True that...cost of new tires is well worth peace of mind....and balanced against losing control if a tire goes, well worth the expenditure.

begs the question: What tires, what pressure, what temp, what load and what speed. In decades of driving I have never 'disintegrated' a tire....a tire going flat and still "at speed" for sufficient time, will tear up the sidewalls....only tires that I personally seem 'come apart' were back in...

Alas like everything in life..it always comes down to "assumption of risk".. I changed the timing belt [and water pump] on our '05 Tundra with only 60K miles...interference motor would self-digest if belt broke...of course entire rig and worse could be lost if tires go at speed or the 'wrong...

Only a thought, or 2...storage space in our '16 hawk / side dinette is at a premium and is 'golden'...if you install any form of a box or drawer into the existing storage space under that seat cushion you lose storage space....just saying....plus our hold down buckle access door is accessed...

Not mentioned is age of tires....is there any guidance based on factual not sales for how long you should continue to use tires even if the tread depth is still "safe/usable"? I realize a lot of variables such as use, storage, air pressure and weight carried....unless you see sidewall...
