Speaking from ignorance....but why not use a 4 AWG cable if it has less resistance? Cost not a bigee, but sucking every V/A out of the system is a winning proposition....why not less resistance?

Yes that 202 mileage will help in our planning...we planned on going to Tuweep first and from Fredonia but may now duplicate your route....if the mileage total is less doing your route since we would like to add Twin Point but fuel may limit that addition no matter where we start...

RONR, Thanks, that does help. Trying to figure out our routing. We have covered most of Utah but never the N.Rim...56 miles from Tuweep to Whitmore. Chevron station at Pipe Springs closest fuel. Was considering Kelly Point [W. of Whitmore] but that requires a lot of miles and re-fueling...

Thanks Rick....I am in the "other camp" I keep 60psi in my E-rated 10/ply Kelly tires...old off road motorcycle guy here and higher pressures while giving less contact, traction in soft, prevented tread and sidewall punctures...Tom Shepard/Chris Scott 4x4 and desert vehicle prep recommend...

My ignorance what exactly is a "thermal break"....are you referring to insulation between the inner and outer surfaces of a FWC...ostensibly, the white foam between the aluminum frame members?

Not certain exactly what you mean by "soft storage compartment" but I guess my backpacking stuff sacks placed through the turnbuckle doors might qualify....helps organize and assist retrieval of seldom used stuff I keep between Tundra bed sides and Hawk floor box...

Just got a permit to camp at Tuweep CG for 7 nights this April. Can't find a map of the CG but would appreciate recommendations for good sites if they are open. '05Tundra/'16 FWC Hawk. also any suggestions for driving out to the NW and exploring that country on the way out. Thanks, Phil

I think "oil-canning" in strong winds is a fact of life with FWC....our '16 Hawk 'pops' under certain winds [direction/velocity] ... ours is a single sheet roof...

Interesting, I wonder if the vintage or dinette style dictated no venting...our '16 hawk [purchased new in Oregon] with side dinette has a small wire screened battery compartment vent on starboard side on the shelf in front corner. Same, we had FWC AGMs until I went to BB Li. In the for what...

What exactly are your concerns? Ignition/fire? Fumes? So far that I can discern BB LiFeP04 batteries do not off gas nor ignite...if in doubt check with Renogy...hey, life is a crap shoot! B)
