RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Need more ceiling LED lighting

Actually you can get enough lumens to read by with a tap on light; and you can place it at either end of the board where you heads are when sleeping or sitting below....batteries seem to last forever...plus they are cheap and easy to install...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Can a Li battery be charged by a generator?

Sorry off topic...but I have a '62 vehicle that I want to use a Li battery in and wondered if the original generator or any generator [not an alternator] can correctly charge a Li battery? Perhaps this could be applicable on older RVs with generators as well. Thanks...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West DC-DC Charger...Does It Ever Need to Be Disconnected When Stopped?

I agree, not withstanding the Victron 712 SOC....the voltage also reflects the SOC....I do have a monitor but as has been pointed out the exact SOC is very difficult to pin down; and, the SOC / voltage range is a very tight one....not many volts to dramatically change the SOC...so we guess and...

Vic...good thought...still in process of determining IF the DC/DC will pass current from the Battery Tender to the BB battery with Tundra motor off....your suggestion is a good one...any pointers on desired storage voltage for a BB? Now sitting at 13.25v. Phil

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West DC-DC Charger...Does It Ever Need to Be Disconnected When Stopped?

My Bluetooth and complete Victron / Battleborn Li battery set-up was installed in June and I have used the Hawk on two trips since then....but observed, recorded and dinked with DC/DC, solar and 110v charging systems ...first off the Li set-up is outstanding...the DC/DC charger is a game changer...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West DC-DC Charger...Does It Ever Need to Be Disconnected When Stopped?

My question refers to the possibility that current could flow through my Victron DC/DC charger from the BB battery in the Hawk into the Tundra battery...or, when Tundra is on Battery Tender in shop that current could go from Tundra into the BB in Hawk... When parked on trips or in shop, I have...

Winter storage or winter use.... If you heat the water in the heater and have room in the 20 gal storage tank...in the winter you can dump/drain the hot water into the storage tank overnight if expecting really low temps and this gives you a larger heated thermal mass outside of the space...

Thanks Jim...yes, the only accounts of negative bear contacts in Winds I can find are supposed predation of Griz on cattle near Green River and north end of the range...funny we graze "slow elk" in bear habitat and they get pissed when a bear eats one. A thought....uneducated one...the exterior heater vent on my furnace in the Hawk is pretty much open to anything out and about of the camper....I had a wasp nest inside such a vent on our home and the burner could not be cleared before ignition so it would not ignite..I put a mesh screen cone...

Ha! Paul I expected something along this line, well done...obviously bears are omnivores but they are primarily carnivores...hence the smell of blood or meat is an attractant; big time. In Kicking Horse CG I watched a bear get trapped by ranger in a culvert trap: Bait was bacon. Also...
