RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Left Hand Collet Cyn Rd. Down To HITR ?

Yes I noted the snow on the plateau crest in your photo.....there are guided tours from Escalante down Collet and out HITR back to Escalante...assume they are not in monsoon period but later summer and early fall.... I will post as I can what I find when we get there...all good...alternative is...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Left Hand Collet Cyn Rd. Down To HITR ?

Thanks....I am still trying to get BLM or NP to give me a current road condition update....last one 3-17.. Your information is golden and appreciated...hopefully in 2+ weeks when we try for Tuweep and then on 5-2 Smokey/Left Collet drier conditions will make the roads passable....but I have...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Water system leak

Also, may have been mentioned, but you cannot drain or purge all the water out of our '16 Hawk 6 gallon hot water heater..some water will remain.... 3/4 gallon?

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Initial water tank fill on Fleet

Implied and I agree, that perhaps the tank is full and hence the overflow is what you are seeing...unless there is an ice plug, not sure what else could obstruct that 'closed' system...FYI, we open both faucet valves when filling....

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Left Hand Collet Cyn Rd. Down To HITR ?

Yes, all information, especially current, is appreciated....Ranger at BLM St.George confirmed your observations that is has been a very wet Spring....only wild cards for us are when will it dry out enough to drive on AND how much damage have the roads suffered..right now most roads we are...

Wango, Tougher than me! 4'x25' would have turned me around....too old to pile and dig unless absolutely necessary... Hey look for a gray '05 Tundra AC / '16 Hawk with a Best Friends sticker on back door and GD sticker in RR window [could decide to mount our Warn winch on front]...may well be...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West I need more power Scotty!

Long thread with much valuable information...definitely helped me in our conversion to Li battery..might add that we have found the BB internal heater valuable as it has kept the BMS from stopping any input charge at very low battery temps [25F?]; so in Winter our panels keep the battery up even...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Left Hand Collet Cyn Rd. Down To HITR ?

Great stuff and thanks...as to Utah possibly drying now, that may not be the case for some time...currently NW AZ and S Utah are under either a lot of snow or dealing with flashfloods...for us hope to get into Whitmore on 4-21 and with reservations at Tuweep on 4-24 the roads may still be...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Left Hand Collet Cyn Rd. Down To HITR ?

Hey Vic...thought I sent you a copy of our planned trip route....yes, on 5-2 we have planned on going through Big Water and out on Smokey Mt. Rd...spending a night up on the K. RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Front roof lift helper

FYI...at least on our '16 Hawk the centered longitudinal board that attaches to the front panels is not supposed to be used to push/lift the front of the top up...the horizontal board across the roof just aft of that 'push/pull' board is where we are supposed to push up to lift the front section...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Left Hand Collet Cyn Rd. Down To HITR ?

Optimistically still hoping roads into Whitmore and Tuweep [4-21] and then Smokey Mt to Left Hand Collet Cyn [5-2] will be open. Two days ago St. George was 200% of normal precip. My 'question' is twofold: Who is a reliable source of road information for Collet Canyon down to HITR Rd? Big...

Looks good! Nice to have that bumper as a mounting point to carry the weight. I concur about not leaving the spout on the can. Clean spout = clean fuel.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West eastern oregon/western idaho in early spring?

Page Springs is a great CG...just as you enter to the left side next to creek those front sites have a rock wall next to them just across the stream...look for nesting Great Horned Owls on that wall....early morning and evening listen for their 4 part 'hoots'...beautiful place.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Plans Changed - Moab Bound

"Fox" may be as she proclaims a desert and Moab expert....and of course selling her guide....but for me that area now is a no-go due to huge number of idiots on ORVs that are rented in Moab storming along off road and the crush of 'vacationers' anxiously swarming the area. curious now and I...

"The 20 mile dispersed camping limitation around Moab"...news to me, last time we were in Moab was end of Feb 2020 when we spent 5 nights on White Rim Trail...Moab was a frickin zoo! Who enforces this exclusion zone? Surely not BLM.....

Good advice....late rain/snow has many off road options limited or closed...Mann Lake 'was' a cool place to camp on back side, but last time we drove past is was dry and cattle were on it....couple of years ago, this year might be different..plus it is a long drive from Field unless you are...

I think I solved my fuel issue for now; we have an '05 Tundra Access Cab, with back seats removed for more room and less weight. Scott, Could you please photo the "additional bar that supports the bottom of the holder through the bottom of the camper overhang"? I missed this at their website. If I read that correctly there is a fastener going into the FWC and not just using the corner jack bracket. I have studiously...
