RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West New winch and bumper!

By the way Griz....I've been thinking about taking the 9.5K winch off off the Tundra and mounting on one of those carrier mounts you mentioned and mounting on the back of the Ford in the receiver. A guy can't have too many winches.....and sometimes it is real nice being able to winch backwards...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West New winch and bumper!

How do u decide on what size of winch to buy? I think the rule of thumb is one and a half times the weight of the rig. That being said....sometimes in the real world things don't always work out as planned. Several years ago a buddy with a CJ5 jeep and I (with a Ford 1/2 ton 4X4 with 8000...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West FS: Fluorescent lights from 2004 FWC Grandby

Hi everyone, I just removed the original fluorescent light from my Grandby to put LED lights in. I figured someone might be able to upgrade their incandescent lights to these or if they wanted to add some more. I have 2 sets of these. Both work great but one is missing the diffuser cover...

x2 - (this is probably the main reason I don't run 3" straps - they don't fit into trailer hitches as well. And almost everyone has a trailer hitch to hook to.) I have used the 20K straps (2") extensively.....and have used the 30K (3") just a few times. Here are some pics with the 3" strap...

I forgot to mention something about the tow straps. I always carry one in each vechile. NEVER hook the tow strap over your trailer ball unless you want to see what a trailer ball shot out of a 30,000 lb. sling shot would look like. Simply remove your receiver hitch and put the end of the tow...

Rig up a pulley for mechanical advantage if need... Mind you I'm a fan of winches if you can afford and need one. If you are on the fence for less than $100 you could have a 5-ton come along and a couple shackles and pulley in your rig for a "get out a jail (with a bit of work)" card to...

i consider it indispensible. Two days after the purchase of my Ford F250 I was bolting on a winch. So I guess I agree with you! Even though I don't use a winch as often as I once did.....I still use it from time to time. When you need a winch....you really NEED a winch. This is the first...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Lagun Table Group Buy

The Lagun table bracket arrived and all I can say is it is built like a TANK. Very stout for sure. One note....this bracket may be fine for folks with a couch....but for those of us with the dinette option....the horizontal portion of the bracket is way too long. I'm taking it to a buddy who...

Pods8 is correct, a winch probably won't get used much. I have put winches on all of the vehicles I've owned for the last 35 years. When I was younger....I would wear out the winch cable every couple of years and have to replace it. After a lot of use the cable gets a lot of little broken...

Thanks, I got my brackets. now I am going to mount them on some angle iron. I will attach the angle iron with butterfly nuts to the camper jack attachments on my camper. That way I will be able to remove them and put them in the bed of the truck while not in use. I hope that on semi windy days...

RE The great table everyone is talking about: OK, I'm sold! This is brilliant! Too bad I didn't know about this a couple of weeks ago...instead of the night before I head out for a 3-week trip. So, I'll get one before the next trip. MarkBC, I'm in the same boat. I just ordered one...but...

That table is perfect! I have been looking for something like that for my camper build. Thanks so much for the link. It is available Here for $75. I looked at this link and I don't think it is the original Lagun brand. The information says it is manufactured by Springfield Marine. The...

That table pedistal looks like THE BOMB!!!!! I'm ordering one today. It will free up a lot of leg room for the dinette in my Hawk. I noticed that it had a 125 pound weight rating which means it must be pretty sturdy. Great find! Thanks.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West roof lifting helper shocks thingys

Secondly some have said they only have the FWC installed lifts in the front. How does this help you when you are lifting the back? FWC installs one set of lits inside on the forward lift board. In this position....they also help with the back. Since they are inside....they don't effect the...
