Did all the tourist, kook stuff in the Tetons and Yellowstone, as my wife, myself and our travel buddies had never been. It was beautiful though. Saw lots of elk and bison.

Headed off to visit friends in Moab. Man has that place blown up! They lived up in the hills so we could escape the madness. Found a funky little lake to cool off in. The mountain biking was world class!

    Kamas UT to Grand Teton

We are currently in Kamas and heading to GTNP. We were going to stop at Granite Creek but that is 6.5 hours from here. Looking for a place that is a bit closer and maybe like a four hour drive from Kamas. Then we would have another 4 hours to GTNP. Any suggestions???

    Mormon Cricket Stories

Just experienced these in NV. Biggest crickets I have ever seen! Also the biggest coyote I have ever seen was making quite a meal of them.

We All Live in a Yellow Submarine

Here is the link to the mounts I use. https://www.amazon.com/RockyMounts-DropTop-Locking-Thru-Axle-Mounts/dp/B09SVMF76C?source=ps-sl-shoppingads-lpcontext&ref_=fplfs&psc=1&smid=A16WBP0U56LBMV I mounted them to the large aluminum header that runs across the top of the framing. I used 1/4"...

The Acoustic Thread - What are you listening to?

Ahhhhhh. That's the very first tune I learned on this little gem that my great friend Howard made for me. Thanks for the walk down memory lane. :)

    Water Locations

Thanks, we do the same as you. Water in holding tank is only for showers and dishes.

    Water Locations

I too like the security of always having a topped off tank. I have just be finding it not necessary to be full while driving on the highways in between locations. Just looking for fill options to top off before going off the beaten path.

    Water Locations

My questions stems from not wanting to drive long distances with a full tank of water if we can avoid it. The weight of the water is like lugging another (my size!) person along. More weight = worse fuel economy. We leave the CA coast on Saturday for Grand Teton, and will have many miles on the...

We too make use of a conventional CG at times for the same reasons.

Where are folks getting water along the way to your destinations? Any tips or suggestions such as rest stops, gas stations, Love's truck stops? I know it truly depends on where you are and where you are headed, but just looking for some suggestions on "go to" places that are a sure bet to fill...

    Cast Iron Snobbery

Hahaha! This will pair nicely with my $325 Yeti spatula! I'm hoping they will offer a $1000 bottle of oil for seasoning the pan.

I like how with your design you get the full opening for maximum air flow.

    Venting Turnbuckle Doors

Finished another small project today from a wonderful idea politely stolen from WTW. Last weekend we found the great benefit of cross ventilation by having the fans sucking air out and opening the TB doors on the shady side of the camper. We actually watched the temperature drop inside by 15...

Cam straps to keep turnbuckles from loosening?

As my camper is mounted full time, I just wrapped some seizing wire around the turnbuckle and the eyebolt. Same stuff I use to secure the pins of anchor shackles. So far so good, and I always check them before each trip of after long runs on washboard or technical sections.
