RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Advice - stuck near Sacramento

Sorry to hear about your wife's arm. Willits is quite close as the crow flys to the Mendocino coast. Lots of hiking and rivers to explore. This time of year and the current weather may be challenging. You are also not too far ( 2 hours ish) from the Lost Coast and the Kings Range. Breathtaking...

Not sure about the SuperCap2 but the Flux Capacitor on my Chevy is out of this world. Sorry no help here. Interesting topic tho and sounds like a handy unit in a pinch.

Smoking a little pork butt today. Injected with an apple cider brine overnight. Applied my signature sweet/spicy dry rub. Now on to the smoke with some alder and cherry wood. Mopping it every 2 hours with a savory basting. All day, low and slow :). GO 49ers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Slide out bed - Need Help!

+1 Without popping up and looking at what is used, I would say some FG ply would be a great option. If it is indeed 1/2", then a 9 ply Baltic birch would be a readily available good choice. It is stable, strong and has a nice smooth finish. MDF would not be recommended for many reasons.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Update Awning for Hawk

It has been a great awning for us. It makes a great changing room and also a private place to use the porta potty :) I fabricated some aluminum standoffs that I attached to the top channel of the camper with 1/4" aluminum rivets. The rivets have an extremely high holding value so I also used...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Favorite signs you've come across while wandering?

I vividly remember the first time I took in that view. Absolutely breathtaking. I guess I would add to the sign: Just look.......... and see............ and breathe. I get caught up in life and feel at times I'm holding my breath. Camping, exploring and especially taking in amazing beauty...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Update Awning for Hawk

I'm curious, do the Fiamma awnings have the ability to be lowered at the leading edge? We have found that by dropping ours ( Kickass) down and increasing the angle we can block out more sun. This has also come in handy when it is cold and snowing. It is easier to knock off the snow and with the...

My guess is he rolled in by accident some how? There is no where to go on the other side and the sharp bank proves it is most likely deep over there. Or perhaps he just skipped getting the stupid vaccine. Look before you leap!

Thanks! We convinced 30 more to come home with us today. Caught 56 but had to let some go to comply with limits. One overnight soak and I think we are good for the year. Freezer full, my work here is done.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Drop down outdoor shower tent

The unit is made to be installed on a roof rack system. They offer no solution to attach it to the wall of a camper. I fabricated aluminum standoff mounting brackets that I attached to the camper with 1/4" rivets. Then bolted the unit to the brackets. I did the same thing on the other side and...

All boiled, buttered and devoured. This time of year they are at their peak of density and sweetness. Left the pots out and will check again in the morning. Next round goes to crab cakes, crab cocktails, crab fondue and my wife makes a mean spicy crab dip. After that the rest of the season...

A favorable forecast from the front porchometer. An indication of smooth seas for tomorrow. They finally lifted the trap restrictions in our zone. Hoping to feel the need for an abundance of lemon and butter.
