RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Screen Door Latch Catching

My screen door was doing the same thing on my new 2022 Hawk. The screw holes were stripped and the black plastic catch on the door was moving out of whack. I used new stainless, slightly larger screws and added some 3m double sided tape behind it.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West I need a new truck

I think you need to decide what your ultimate goal and camper set up will be. If you wish someday to get into a flat bed set up, then a 3/4 or 1 ton is the way to go for sure. If all you want is a FWC shell model, then a 1/2 ton of your choice will handle it no problem. Depending on the payload...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Ghost In My Roof Vent

Went out to Woodland yesterday and FWC did a factory warranty install of a second Maxxair fan to replace the faulty standard vent. Looks and works great. Thanks Brenda!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I do notice that the black push bar hits the manual knob on the new unit when the top is down. I think I...

In our FWC Hawk we have the king size be option. We really enjoy the N-S orientation and the abundance of space it offers for two. My wife is growing weary of needing to deploy a sheet every night. The crawling and tucking dance right before bed time is getting old. Right now we have a bottom...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West 32 Years in the Making

I have been blessed to learn from some amazing old world craftsman. At the age of 19 I apprenticed under a master boat builder for several years. I then worked with some extremely talented cabinet makers, furniture builders and luthiers. I did the same thing as I did with the rocker with my all...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West 32 Years in the Making

32 years ago when I first settled in Old Town Davenport, I had a neighbor that was a woodworker. He made one thing and one thing only, a rocking chair. I use to help him around the shop and pick his brain. He was a major inspiration for my love of woodcraft. He is getting old now and who knows...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Ghost In My Roof Vent

Hey, quick question for those who are running the Maxx-Air fans. Is there a way to open the fan just a few inches, or is it all or nothing????

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Ghost In My Roof Vent

I just received prompt word from FWC. They will take out the defective vent and replace it with a Maxx-Air fan under warranty. My props go out to FWC for standing behind their product and components.

Interesting!!!!!!!! That would be a best case scenario. A question for FWC to see if the vent and Maxx Air fan are interchangeable.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Ghost In My Roof Vent

I found the culprit, and ruled out the poltergeist! It is the little grey box attached in the photo. Since day one the vent has been temperamental with opening or closing. It only opened all the way up 3 times or so and now only opens maybe half way. We have lived with that, but now the self...

Thank you. It looks like we will have a break in the rain this week and I can get up there and do a full inspection. It would be great if I could just replace some parts. I currently have the dome version lid. At first I thought it may be lifting due to the "wing effect" at high speeds and long...

Thank you for linking that thread Jon R. I'm wishing I opted for the second fan forward instead of the standard vent. I fear I'm now doomed the the aforementioned Bungee to secure my lid.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Ghost In My Roof Vent

Anyone else being haunted by paranormal activity regarding their vent????? I always check the vents are closed before we get underway. Sometimes after driving I notice the vent over the bunk finds its way open about halfway. Today I drove 20 miles up the coast to paddle Pescadero marsh. When we...
