RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Reservation time for WRT campsites?

Well done. I must have helped that your dates were after the peak season.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Airing down tires with camper on

It may be useful to know your axle loads (from truck scale) and the tire manufacturer load tables for various psi. Here is a sample link for Toyo tires (which I happen to have). https://www.toyotire...nflation-tables

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Tundra front Rotors

I think that the safe choice for most makes and models would be OEM rotors from the dealer. For myself it has been a long time since I replaced any rotor. On my last four brake jobs (four different vehicles) I’ve only swapped in new pads as the rotor thickness was within spec.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Reservation time for WRT campsites?

No matter what answer you get it may be good insurance to get on the website at 12:01 AM anyway just in case...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Covid Vaccine -- Have you got yours?

Got my second Moderna shot yesterday. Still kinda stuck at home because the 3 month old puppy is not yet immunized against Parvo.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West FS: 2020 FWC Hawk Orange Cty CA $36,000 SOLD

I like the Tremor/Hawk combo you have. I’d be tempted to go for the same if Ford offered a Supercab Tremor. Good luck.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Do you travel with your jacks?

Your maiden voyage might be a good exception for the jacks especially if you are careful and don't travel any rugged trails. There is still a risk of snagging one of them on something.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Do you travel with your jacks?

Leave the jacks and the tailgate at home.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West World Password Day

I wrote down hints to over a dozen of my passwords and then took a picture of that piece of paper; and have that picture on my phone. I refer to the picture when needed and the hints are enough to remind me. Does that seem somewhat safe? A long time ago I worked at a place that required...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Furring Strips Under Newer FWC

My 2015 Hawk has single furring strips underneath. I would think that is enough and that you could remove two, leaving a single strip. However why not contact FWC with your serial number and ask them.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West wind noise while driving with truck camper?

My first truck/camper had a little noise. It was F150 supercrew with 4" gap to overhang, and the leading edge of camper was farther back from top of windshield. I used a deflector on it for small vaguely perceived benefit of improved aerodynamics. My current rig is a F250 Supercab. It has a...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West FWC Lock Replacement

I replaced The deadbolt with a Quickset double keyed deadbolt. It’s a smart key so I rekeyed it to match the key to my house. One less key to carry. When I go to sleep in the camper I leave a key in the lock so I can exit quickly.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Bishop fishing

Opening day fishing and camping has mostly been for nostalgia and friends/family. Years back I tried unsuccessfully to get our group to meet a week or two later. Fewer crowds and fishing usually better.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West L-Track installation

I installed around 10 eye straps at specific locations to suit my needs. I use bungee cords between ten to hold gear otherwise it all ends on floor. https://www.westmarine.com/buy/ronstan--1-3-4-l-x-9-16-dia-stainless-steel-eye-strap--149294?recordNum=18 With a shell you may have room for a...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Sleeping Two on the Side Dinette

Very smart. Seems like the equivalent of the rollover couch which I have used several times.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Hitch mount bike racks

The Yakima swing daddy had the dual padded arms. Unless you have low cost hardtail bikes, I would recommend a swing away with wheel trays instead of arms. Look at: https://rockymounts.com/backstage/

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West leaks while driving

I run my hand up the center of each flap then press velcro out to each corner with some tension to avoid any wrinkles. That said I have not encountered too much rain in a few years now.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Webasto Diesel Heater conversion on my 2013 Hawk

Well done! Did you ditch propane all together or do you still have it for other appliances? I assume your truck is gasoline as you might have tried to tap into a diesel truck fuel tank for the heater?

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Another Bad Wildfire Fire Season

I'm concerned that it will become an annual event where the national forests are closed to all public use when there is extreme fire hazard.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Hitch mount bike racks

I have a front receiver and have put bike rack there too. Only my beater bike though. The replacement value of our two good bikes is probably worth more than the value of the truck so the rear hitch is safer.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West do you lower tire pressure when you remove camper

The tire load limit will decrease as pressure is reduced. Your tire manufacturer probably can provide tables and if you know your axle weights (loaded and unloaded) then you can reduce pressure accordingly. Here is a sample link for Toyo tires...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Air Purifiers

For shore power there are lots of options. We have several around the house, each a different brand. I like the cylindrical tower type with “silent” mode. Check specs for room size/volume so that you don’t get too large unit. Camper is small space.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West 5 Gal/20 L gas can

I recently acquired my first 20 liter metal can. It is a Wavian and the construction and the spout seem well made.
