RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Anyone using an inReach 2-way Satellite Communicator?

Vic, the SE model is a good device; the fancier model that tries to completely replace a hiking style GPS does not quite do the job, I've heard. I like the ability of the SE device to connect to my phone or tablet via Bluetooth using the inReach app, primarily for non-emergency texting on a...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Anyone using an inReach 2-way Satellite Communicator?

I use it every day while traveling and camping to send out what I call "breadcrumbs" using the unlimited pre-set messages function. Thankfully, I've never had to test the SOS function. My 3 preset messages equate to "I'm OK" and 1) I'm traveling in my truck, 2) I'm hiking from here, and 3) I'm...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Anyone using an inReach 2-way Satellite Communicator?

Hold your horses, Bill. I thought the same thing a couple of years ago, but I was pointed to the fine print which excluded this device. See http://www.rei.com/coupon which says: Discounts not valid on ... any item with GPS technology, activity trackers, personal locator beacons.... I bought it...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Atwood Thermostat

My thermostat is slightly different, but the internals may be the same. There is an adjustment inside which controls the hysteresis, offhand I don't recall what term they use. Did you get a little brochure manual as it is in there? I had to adjust mine quite a bit to get it more reasonable.

Cool. Thanks. I don't even know the ID of that BC bug - not one we have around here, I don't think. Thanks for sharing. Glad you got the griz, too.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West New Mexico: The Pecos Basin, Guadalupe Mountains and Sacramento Mountains

Thanks so much, highz. I don't know how much research has gone into Odonate vision. Odes in general have not been studied extensively. We know way less about them than many other families. Little is known about migration or populations. Some efforts in citizen science, such as record keeping at...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Sightings thread

Yesterday, Friday late morning, I spotted a late model, dark metallic-green Tacoma and Fleet parked at the bike trail access at the south end of Tingley Drive in Albuquerque. The truck had Montana vanity plates (I noted the name, but am not publishing it here.) It was a newish side-dinette...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Electrically-Conductive Glue?

Once upon a time you could run down to Radio Shack and buy a cheap soldering iron (it even came with a little rosin-core solder)... well, Harbor Freight, if there is one near you, has a cheap iron for $4 and solder for $3. Assuming you have room to reach into the location. I don't know of any...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Tacoma shock upgrade?

I put the 5100's on the rear and that helped, but the front was still a bit bouncy. Once they got the front 5100's in stock I had those put on and have been very happy with the feel and handling since. I also got better results increasing the air bag pressure to 45# on one side and 55# on the...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Rotopax Gas Can Problem

I emptied my two 2 gal rotopax into my tank this winter and refilled them when gas was cheap. I stood them in my garage until I put the camper back on last week. RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Rotopax Gas Can Problem

Very happy to hear Rotopax is standing behind their product. I have two of the 2gal containers, though I store them flat in a carrier, so no stresses on the seams like in your rig.
