RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Cooking Indoors with Outdoor Propane Stove

As far as the combustion, I see no difference between an outdoor and built-in propane stove - in both situations you need to vent the camper by at least partially opening a window and the roof vent. Perhaps it is considered unsafe to have the propane bottle in the camper lest a leak develop with...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Roof Leak caused by weather conditions and maybe stupidy!

Sorry to hear of your troubles, Smoke. Does your Granby have the single panel roof or is it one of the older models with a seam? I hope you follow up this post once you figure out the leak. Wishing your good weather and good luck, Bill

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Anyone using an inReach 2-way Satellite Communicator?

Good for you. Doesn't matter where you buy as Garmin will do any service or repair, if necessary. My original inReach's display died after two years. It took Garmin almost a month to repair it and get it back, but they did the repair free of charge even though it was out of warranty, due to the...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Anyone using an inReach 2-way Satellite Communicator?

Good to hear Spot will reverse the renewal. I have the Freedom Safety Plan - Freedom means I pay an annual fee, then a monthly fee for only those months I intend to activate the device. Since I don't camp in the winter months, I save a small amount this way. I don't know if the rates have...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Anyone using an inReach 2-way Satellite Communicator?

You might be able to ask Spot to reverse the renewal if it just now renewed (don't know). But I was able to get SiriusXM to reverse a renewal the day it automatically renewed.. The Delorme unit has all the important functions of the newer Garmin unit - communications, SOS, etc. The new SE+...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Options For Outside Thermometer?

[ski, I'm confused - is this the new topic? or should I find the post somewhere else in order to reply?] XJINTX, I just use a cheap wireless indoor/outdoor thermometer from Amazon. I love seeing how cold it got overnight. It also provides a better indication of the inside temp. Example...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Anyone using an inReach 2-way Satellite Communicator?

The purchase of Delorme by Garmin has born its first fruits, just unveiled at the Consumer Electronics Show There is now an inReach SE+ and inReach Explorer+. Both appear in newly designed cases. Just in looking at the display of the Explorer on their website, it looks more like a Garmin GPS...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Audio Books

I used to get audiobook CDs from my local library when I traveled in my passenger car. The road/wind noise is so loud in my truck cab, that it drowns out enough of the audio as to make the venture unsatisfying. I can still enjoy music (radio, iTunes or XM Satellite Radio), but with a book you...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West 8ft Camper on Short-bed Tacoma, Do-able?

I don't have the definite answer you're looking for, but I have the std. 6' Tacoma bed and my FWC Fleet hangs off the bed by over a foot. I don't think the wheel wells would be the problem (though I'm not familiar with the Granby), but the fact that the center of gravity of the camper would be a...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Deployable Solar Charging System & Panel Carrier

The only metal framing in the overhang is around the periphery. The flat surface is some sort of composite board with a formica-like facia on both sides. My post on the Rotopax carrier is here: http://www.wanderthewest.com/forum/topic/8665-rotopax-carrier-mounted-under-camper-over-cab/...

By counter-sinking the holes, and selecting the right length bolt, nothing sticks above the mattress platform. So the bed slide is unaffected. Thanks.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Why (I think) FWC and ATC have a "cult like" following (was eye bolts replacement)

I continue to be surprised, and a little disappointed, when I met FWC/ATC owners who feel nothing special about our campers. kmcintyre has a point and I have certainly enjoyed customizing the camper. However, to me it is more the feeling of the freedom to travel, and the self-contained...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Deployable Solar Charging System & Panel Carrier

I'll say! I've camped in more "beautiful" or "spectacular" sites, but the peace and serenity of this one is unparalleled. I thought about not describing its location, but anyone reading my blog is probably cool enough to appreciate it and take care of it should they be fortunate enough to camp...

I was enjoying your photos, but apparently you or Flickr moved them and a bunch showed up as "Not Available" or maybe just a glitch. In any case I was astute enough to click over to your Flickr page and enjoyed them even more there. Very impressive! Thanks.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West wind deflectors

After a couple years use, I'm still very happy with my Yakima single bar with fairing on my Tacoma with Fleet. It's not cheap, but is easy to install and very stable. I'd recommend getting the Q tower locks, too, just in case.

It's looking like I might not make it to the meet-up until Saturday, but not to worry, I plan to be there in plenty of time to prepare my recipe for NM chile 'n' beans for our pot luck; I'll bring some flour tortillas, too. I'll also bring some firewood. I'm looking forward to meeting you all...
