I stuff my tire chains in there.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Mosquito Fire

We were just out camping at Gold Lakes Basin and above Lake Davis. Thursday afternoon wasn't too bad, and I got a Harvest Moon photo that night. Friday morning was okay as we poked around the base of Mt. Ingalls. I got a few more shots of Lake Davis in the morning. Friday afternoon was...

Yes, although we both have air conditioned offices we can go to. AQI hit 300+ today.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Vermont! (we moved)

Vermont is a great state. My aunt and (deceased) uncle have a place in Weybridge, outside Middlebury. We've been back a few times and love it. Best wishes to your eastern relocation, Mr. Occidental!

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Guess Who Is Going To Be Dinner

We had a pair in our garden one year, using a sunflower leaf as their bedroom. I happened to walk by on the second day as the male disengaged and did a backflip exit, successfully flying away. Other times, there's been a few males that lost their head.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Aurora Borealis

I'll keep an eye out tomorrow. We're headed up to our Phoenix Camp, 7500' in the northern Sierra. I'm sure it's a long shot, but there won't be any moon until 7am. Time to pack the 15mm/2.8 Laowa glass!

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Hawk on a 1st gen tundra

Old Crow is correct. The wide part of the Hawk sits above the Tundra bed rails. I bought some extra siding from FWC and covered that part, since it was only painted plywood above the floor pack. The overhang of the Hawk sits quite a bit above the Tundra cab and a wind fairing is recommended...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Refrigerator door closed?

That's what I did for all my 2008 cabinet drawers and doors. We carry a cast iron pan and our doors kept popping open on the rougher trails. The straps with snaps have been in use for 8 years and we still use them. I've since done slam latch hardware on our doors, but the straps on straps is...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Refrigerator door closed?

Our Dometic latch hangs on my less than an 1/8" and has dumped our food far too many times. I went to my garage and cut a short 4" piece of a 2x2 (ironwood picket) and hinged it. I glued in two super magnets so it can stay flipped up or flipped down in front of the door. It's overkill, but...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West San Francisco Peaks (Flagstaff, AZ) burning

I conditionally agree with you. We've seen too many of these daytime pyromaniacs in official CGs. Every morning someone has to start another fire; upwind of course. We've also found too many illegal fire rings on the road and on the trail, sometimes with hot ashes in evidence. What annoys...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West FWC Rally 2022

Great shots to tell the story. We saw about a dozen FWC rigs driving south on 89 today. That was an interesting rainy morning!

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West We Have Fox Kits!

We've got a denning female coyote nearby. Callie has chased and been chased by our neighboring coyote mother . Every morning she runs out the back gate barking aggressively. I now keep a manual weedwacker ( sort of a golf club looking scythe thing ) by the orchard gate in case of emergency...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West carrying full size spare

We've had to use our spare in DVNP after being snake bit which made a run back to Bishop mandatory. We were just able to buy a used tire on Christmas Eve before the tire shop closed (intersection of Hwy 6 / Hwy 395). Otherwise, we couldn't have finished our trip without a spare.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West SUMMER SUMMER

Baby plants in our garden will need to be protected if we get into hail. I've set up garden hoops with EMT conduit and stainless cable which lets us deploy pup tents over most of our raised beds. We use shade cloth as a tarp to protect against blazing sun or hail.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Northwest Nevada - May 2022

Thanks for sharing another chapter in your travels. There's so much history from the last 170 years still laying around to be appreciated, especially in Nevada. I also appreciated the geology observations. Keep them coming!
