RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West The waiting begins.

Thanks for the kind words, trying to be patient, but it isn't something I am good at. The boys at ATC have been awesome, listening to my goofy ideas and going the extra mile(s) to make it happen. No photos of course yet, just the drawings and the "before" truck/camper new truck/bed stuff. Will...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West The waiting begins.

Wanted to say thanks to all of the great people here. Those of you who have asked/answered so many questions. Those with trip reports and links to amazing places. After many years of planning, scheming, I just got off of the phone with Jeff at ATC. Yep, another "i'm having a camper built" post...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West What do you get? MPG on F350 4x4 Diesel or Gas

My current truck/camper setup (one pictured in profile) is a 2002 F250 5.4 gas, if I get 15 mpg with the camper on I am very happy. Most of the time it is a few mpg's less. Have a 2016 F350 diesel, mpg in it has been all over the place. High of 28, low of 12. Still breaking it in and am working...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Hey, what's your handle?

Wango, had it since I was a kid. Came from a song by Ted Nugent, and given to me as sort of a suggestion, as in Wayne go!

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Ladder

I have two of these, I use one whenever we have our sea-kayaks on top of the camper. Makes getting them tied/untied down easy. Usually store it in back of cab of truck.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West At long last - The official All Terrain Campers WTW flatbed edition thread

Zuber, Yes give the guys a call. I too am in the process of putting together my own custom flatbed. Marty and Jeff have answered a great many questions already. Always, in a kind and considerate manner. I put a deposit on my custom bed this morning, and talked with Marty about driving down and...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Camper Install by Crane

Have been following this thread. Lots to think about. Will be starting basic design talks in the coming months for a new flatbed model. Truck has been purchased, flatbed has been sourced and will be installed in late Jan/16 or early Feb/16. Getting it on and off of truck will be a challenge...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Small campgrounds and dispersed camping on Beartooth Highway?

I spend a bunch of time in the NE corner of yellowstone in spring and early summer. There are numerous fs roads leading to great free camping in the Bearthooth pass area. Some are within miles of the NE entrance. Food storage safety is a must, but encounters with bears while serious by nature...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Driving to Anchorage, AK

Hey, i have done both. Driven Al-Can and taken ferry, in fact i may be doing a road trip up to the arctic circle this year as well if gas prices stay low enough. Am thinking of driving up and taking the ferry back down. Great trip either way. Good luck and enjoy. w

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Ford Camper Package?

FWIW, i have an F-250. Came with the off-road package, truck has overload springs, swaybar tranny cooler etc. The skidplates give me a little extra feel good while out and about but couldn't say if they offer too much protection. My camper isn't as light as yours, but it hardly drops the bed...
