RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Snow: how much is too much?

Randonneur, Please don't take my comment as being critical. I love my camper, 260 plus nights in the last one, 126 plus in the new one so far. Can't imagine a much better setup for us to explore the west(?).

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Snow: how much is too much?

My two pennies, I bring a ladder like TM with me always in the cab. In the winter, if snow is forecast I set my alarm every two hours or so. if needed, I climb up and sweep the roof off. Will be adding some blocks to reinforce the sides, my roof is a little longer than standard, but feel like...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Flatbed rear wheel articulation

Craig, I would think it depends on the type of bed and installation. I run 35s on my 2016. leveled front, and rear suspension was modified to keep level, but no real lift. Is this going to be a cab and chasis bed, or will you take of the regular bed and then put a flatbed on. My bed is about 5...

Gaylon, have wedge locks on both, extender and main part of unit. Will try your idea though, usually put the whole thing together then put the tire up there.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Installed Wilco Hitchgate with Driver's side offset

Have had mine on for over a year, no playin hitch and no rattles. It does lean a bit to one side, have spoken with them at length on this, it is because I had to use an extension. Have also pulled people out of the sand at lake powell, no issues. Not much else out there for a full size spare...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Need your knowledge: Which truck to buy?

Ditto on the flatbed. Having had both types of bed/camper setups and still using the truck as a truck its hard to beat a flatbed. Bigger trucks can sometimes limit travel due to size, some trails get a bit tight, but not as often as I had feared originally.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Cooking? I'm on VACATION!

Wow, great thread guys. I agree with all that I have read here. We are constantly changing cooking plans to suit location, time of year, weather etc. Have lived around Yellowstone for most of the last 30 years, animals are a consideration. We do cook in and outside, temps and weather being the...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Lite Craft Pop Up Campers?

Yes, my first was a litecraft. Had it in a 2003 F250. Well built, took it anywhere the truck fit. Held up great. 250 nights in it. Sold it to my buddy, he's got it in his tundra. Beefed up the suspension, but it is doing great for him. Solid campers for the price in my opinion. w

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Wilco Hitchgate Offset now offers to swing either way

Times 2 on Wilco, have used a hitch gate, wobble free extension for a year now, many rough roads/trails. Had a minor issue in baja, but their customer service is top-notch. Problem fixed. I always carry two spares.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West is a pop up really worth it?

My two Abe Lincolns, What they all said above. And be honest with yourself about where you want to take your camper. I personally like a hardside at times, but way to many downsides for what I do. My buddie has a huge lance, slide out, plush etc. Its heavy, crushes his 1 ton dually and sways all...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Few ATC Questions

Will try to add to the already good answers. 1. When I ordered mine, painting was not an option. I looked into painting, but in the end had it wrapped. Matches pretty well and if it gets beat up or scratched, can be replaced. 2. Not sure. 3. On my old camper truck combo, yes I could crawl...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West f-350 winch bumper

Am in the same boat, the shop that works on my truck sell ARB and Buckstop. Recomends the buckstop, says the ARB is heavy and doesn't fit the superduty as well, by that he feels the lines are better with the Buckstop.
