RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Storage place for hitch mounted winch?

What year is your Ford Super Duty, look into Torklift front receiver mount. It mounts into center of the front bumper of my 2015 F250, behind front license plate. A much better position for a winch than below or in the air dam area. When I am going to an area where a winch might be needed, I...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Current Pandemic, Cancelled December trip, staying home

With the numbers spiking the way they are, I don't think this is the time for any long trips. I've been hanging out at our private fishing club on the Yuba River. It's great to have a place to go and camp, fish and relax.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Big Bend, Recreation.gov, always booked?

Alot of camp sites were blocked out in the Sierra's as well, due to work being performed in campsites, thinning of the forests and brush. They would block out months at a time and you could not reserve any spots.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West F250 suspension upgrade

Shocks are designed to absorb bumps in the road, prevent wheel hop and control some swaying, they are not designed to support weight or level the vehicle. I installed air bags on my Super Duty to level vehicle while towing my boat, they also help with vehicle sway on mountain roads.

Tundra's have alot of power, they will pass everything but a gas station. The concern you should have is stopping. your truck with the camper while driving in the mountains. In all my years working in a Toyota Dealership service department, I saw alot of overheated rotors from over loaded...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Distance between truck bed rails and camper

When I had my Hawk on a F150 the camper sat one inch above bed rails, on my F250 Super Duty the gap is about like yours just because of the height of the bedside. I like the gap, it allows me to store large items between camper and bedside in front and to the rear of the wheel wells.

I'm with you Ted !!!! It's been two weeks since our annual family camping trip to a remote lake. I have never seen so many people in this area ever.
