I have considered both a pintle or a multi-axis coupler. Unfortunately they are expensive. I am going to try this for a while. With this new setup I can easily swap in the future if needed. Thanks for your comment.

Here's a trailer update. For those that read our Denver trip report, you will know that the trailer lost it's connection to our truck at a rough railroad crossing. No real harm done other than scrubbing some metal off the landing leg casting. As a result of that mishap, I made a new trailer...

We took a driving trip to Denver to visit our son who is relocating there from the Bay Area. The trip didn't provide a lot of blog material but I took a few photos and wrote it up anyway. We camped at Rocky Mountain National Park and enjoyed driving the Trail Ridge Road. We saw some nice scenery...

Ski, yes, that is the route. They are thinking they can do the trip from Wawona to Great Basin in one day, leaving Yosemite early and a arriving for a late dinner in Great Basin. Is that realistic? Wouldn't be for us but they are young. :)

Well, now they are talking about taking Hwy 6 to Ely from Wawona. Is that a similar road and situation?

Thanks for the comments everyone. Keep them coming :) We've driven Hwy 50 in the winter but that is a whole different thing. We did visit the Hickson petroglyph site and enjoyed that. Camped at the Bob Scott USFS campground- and were definitely by ourselves there in December, haha.
