    Winter -- Wow!

Well the weirdest winter in some time continues here. Real winter is all around us but not here. St Louis gets 12" of snow and we get nothing. We have had a couple months of above average temps and no snow. Not that I am complaining but it is weird. Middle of January and we saw a large flock of...

    Your Input is NEEDED NOW!

Here's another bit of crazy by the current administration: Responding to Archeologists' Amicus briefs filed in support of a lawsuit by the Hopi tribe and others over removal of protections from the Utah monuments: “Federal defendants do not have adequate time or space to address every...

    Winter -- Wow!

Foy, funny you should mention rain. It has been raining here all day! This after a few inches of snow last night which is rapidly melting. Temps in the high 30°s. Weirdest Minnesota December weather ever! Folks a couple hours north of us are getting socked with over a foot of the white stuff...

Drink beer and support the fire victims

Cool idea. I see there is a participating brewery not far us- Wild Mind Artisan Ales. We've been there before and will probably make another visit on Thursday for this event.

SALINE VALLEY HOT SPRINGS, Nov., 2018

Sounds like a good relaxing time. Sure wish we had some hot springs around here- we are heading into the single digit temperatures the next couple of nights. Soaking in a hot spring would be pretty nice.

Benton Hot Springs - November 2018

The good news is that we don't have fires much around here, the bad news is we don't have hot springs either. We know the fires are a serious problem for many. Our heart goes out to those affected and we hope for the best in that regard. The hot springs on the other hand sound wonderful. Thanks...

Stabilize jack stand on dirt how?

The ground holds a lot of moisture that will adversely affect your camper over time, assuming it is kept relatively close to the ground, which would be advisable. The tarp will create a vapor barrier and reduce the amount of moisture present. Also less hospitable to bugs and critters hanging out...

Stabilize jack stand on dirt how?

If it was me, I would spread a tarp on the ground under the camper and stake it down before parking the camper. Put the blocks for the jacks on top of the tarp to help hold it in place. Keep the camper elevated a bit over the tarp to allow good ventilation.

    CAD Software

I've fooled around in SketchUp on the Mac. It's fun and easy to learn. The downside is it doesn't translate easily to CNC type applications, if that's where you're headed. There are conversion programs but I haven't had good success with them, probably due to my own lack of knowledge in both. I...

    Fall into Autumn 2018

Well we didn't hit -5°C today plus had 20 mph winds- yeah, cold, at least for this early in November. But I suspect your winters are pretty good for bragging rights in Calgary, even compared to ours in Minneapolis.

    Fall into Autumn 2018

Well, that would only rule out the summer months here... Maybe that's why they say we have 2 seasons- winter and the 4th of July, or maybe it's winter and road construction. :)
