RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West *RIP* Fixing an old Sun Lite TC

Ouch! Total bummer! Like others, glad no one was hurt. Good luck working through the insurance and finding another camper.

And eggs- back in the bird flu time ( a couple years ago) they took all our eggs. No questions about the truck.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Roof storage rack for Hawk

I have a Yakima basket on the roof at the back where it is easy to reach. We use it occasionally for carrying bulky lightweight stuff. Mostly use it for carrying firewood from the park office to the campsite when we are using campgrounds that require you to purchase your firewood at the park...

I had forgotten about Roverrocks reports. Per Foy's recommendation: https://www.expeditionportal.com/forum/threads/rovering-and-four-wheeling-the-nebraska-sandhills-in-june-2014.128589/ https://www.expeditionportal.com/forum/threads/autumn-in-the-nebraska-sandhills.133946/

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Condor nest cam Big Sur

That's pretty neat. I kinda feel sorry for the chick being left on its own so much. But I suppose it doesn't know any different. Probably makes up for it when the adults do come back. :)

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West RFI: Northern Nebraska

The western edge of Nebraska probably has the most scenery. Fort Robinson State Park and Chadron State Park both look scenic- haven't been to either though. We would like to see the spring migration of the sandhill cranes at the Platte river but there is nothing similar in the fall. Enjoy your...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Moving sink hand water pump

Heat it and tighten the clamp- should work but not foolproof. Only suggesting it as a last resort. Obviously if you have access to PEX tools you should use those. Alternatively, you could always replace the PEX with vinyl tubing if it's accessible.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Bed support splitting

Seems like putting an angle behind the wood would work. You could probably glue the split in the current board and reuse it to face the angle as you suggest.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Moving sink hand water pump

You could probably use a regular hose clamp also if PEX stuff is not available to you. As Bill says, you will probably have to heat the tubing to get it off and back on (unless you have the specialized PEX tools).

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Midwest is humid! Anyone try using a dehumidifier?

Yeah, that's the one. The problem with a dehumidifier in your context is its two byproducts are heat that would be added to your interior and water that needs to be dumped. You need to exhaust that heat and drain the water outside somehow- which is what air conditioners do.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Midwest is humid! Anyone try using a dehumidifier?

I saw one somewhere (memory fails me) that just sat on a shelf or table outside the camper and had 2 small ducts that ran in a window- looked simple. Maybe Google can find it. Seems like there have been some threads on here about A/C. Someone will probably pop in with some suggestions.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Wyoming Back Roads

Lots of scenery and dispersed camping in the Bighorn Mountains. We camped (in a USFS campground) near the Cloud Peak Wilderness on our shakedown trip 6 years ago. It is still on our list as a place we want to return to. Took a nice dirt road drive along Crazy Woman Creek heading out to Buffalo...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Midwest is humid! Anyone try using a dehumidifier?

With the issue being heat + humidity and if you are going to be plugged in to shore power, I would say go with an air conditioner. That is basically what a dehumidifier is anyway. We use the moving air strategy but concede that some nights just are not going to be great for sleeping. We try to...

Nice to see some flowers and green grass. We have melted most of the snow around here, except on the north side of things. Green-up is underway but flowers are a ways out yet. Monday is supposed to hit 80°F. Crazy that 2 weeks ago we had 16 inches of snow. Thanks for the photo- it's a beautiful...

Definitely a whiner winner! Ticks are an important food source for many birds and reptiles. Not that that makes them more appealing in any way, haha.
