Thanks, jim Cut approx. 8" off bottom to fit bunk height. Top hooks have been Plasti-dipped 4 times. Have not traveled with it yet but I would imagine that if its not in place, it will either be flat on the bed or on its side on floor of camper.

R5 ... If that's not a custom GMC bumper then I'm assuming the Aluminess Chevy bumpers fit GMC's? Everyone says that Chevy and GMC's are one in the same .... so if that's true, I cant see why they aren't interchangeable. .. btw, that's a really nice rig you have.

Could be a difference of bolts between standard (slide in) FWC and a flat bed. Cant see where it makes a difference when it comes to the step breaking.

Gnarly! You're lucky that sharp edge didn't catch a thigh or calf. You could have bled to death right there! I've never been really happy with my steps. ONE trip to the beach and the surface was pitted .... even after washing it as soon as I got home two days afterward. Hard for me to put any...
