    Chevy/GMC rear bumpers compatibilty

I have heard of that from others. I don't like that idea at all but I really need a full size spare ... and a box to put my generator in. What kind of bumper did you put on?

    Revisiting heavy duty trucks

I concur. My parents taught me the importance of taking care of things, putting things back where they belong after use and having a little pride in the things I worked for. It's one of the best things they could have ever taught me other than respect for others and a few other spiritual things...

Have you tried to sell a FWC today?

The attention mine gets is a two sided sword. If I'm busy setting up camp or breaking camp down ... or doing anything that requires my concentration, I don't like the draw of it. Otherwise, it makes for an awesome way to meet others whom I might never have spoke to. Meeting people who are a...

Have you tried to sell a FWC today?

I keep flyers that Rocky Mountain FWC gave me in the camper and pass them out to anyone who wants more info. I also started my build thread here on WTW and post pics and links on it often with hopes of influencing others. Cant praise FWC build quality any more than I do in conversation.

You have me curious now, Andy. I'm going to go look for that as soon as I get a chance. Thanks for the wiring pic, smlobx!

    plywood under mattress - sealing?

I would think the padded aspect of it wouldn't be of much importance. I have a two inch memory foam on top of mattress and I sleep very well ... even with a herniated c6 from surfing Mexico in the early '90s. I may drill a series of 2" holes (door knob style) on the slider board under the...

    Revisiting heavy duty trucks

My bed is 6.5 and I can't imagine having to park anything longer in a crowded parking lot ... much less maneuvering it in the bush.

    Revisiting heavy duty trucks

My dealers diesel mechanic cautioned me on idling with the new DEF systems. He said the system doesn't burn off the pollutants at low rpms and consequently, the exhaust system will plug sooner (effecting performance) if idled too much for too long. Just thought I'd share that since a lot of...

It is not supplied as far as I know ... unless it's tucked up out of sight somewhere in cabinetry ... I highly doubt it.

Thanks Rando. I'm looking closely at that NOCO Genius G3500 on Amazon. Is that 3.5 amp the correct model for my Hawk and its two batteries?

    FWC Battery care

Thanks, guys. Can we make this simple and just post some Amazon links as to what I need? :D Vic ... I got that controller photo off the internet. Its not actually mine. Mine is just like it though.

    Bombsight Build Thread

Yes ... thermal pack. Couldn't think of the proper terminology. Its either shore power or generator with AC. I've used it 4 times with shore power and once with generator. No problems with either. Just make damn sure you remember to remove the cover on it outside. Beer made me forget once...

    Bombsight Build Thread

I think in the worst of Texas heat, it could use a little bigger one ... but in our typical hot days, its a wonderful thing. A dog should be safe. It was installed by FWCs. Cant stress the need for the climate pkg. enough.

    Bombsight Build Thread

Andy ... I have two shower heads of the same make. One has a longer hose which is routed through the front left access door and upward to ceiling inside (it's coiled up between camper and fender well when not using indoor shower) ... the other is mounted between camper and cab when not in use...

    FWC Battery care

smlobx ... You're saying that the "Loops" can be left on the battery permanently and the other ends connection is easily accessible? If so, I can live with something like that ... I'd just have to run the 110 power source through the turn buckle access door.

    FWC Battery care

Longhorn ... thats what I've been doing (110 plugged into FWC pigtail) but I'm not so sure thats the best thing for these deep cell batteries. I'm not even sure that a trickle charger is the best method. smlobx ... that charger looks smart ... and I would probably buy it or the Battery Tender...

    FWC Battery care

Thanks for the links, guys. Is there a system where I could use the pigtail FWC supplies for land power hookup? I'm trying to stay away from having to open the battery compartment inside the camper and the need to use alligator clips. I'm impressed with that "Battery Tender" company.

    FWC Battery care

I have dual deep cell batteries in my 2016 Hawk. When in storage, what is the best method of maintaining their integrity and extending their life? I have been leaving them plugged into shore power with the main powers silver knob near the fuse box pulled out. Any advice from the electronic...

    Chevy/GMC rear bumpers compatibilty

I've done some research on multiple aftermarket bumper makers. They ALL have the same part number listed for Chevy as for GMC with their products. With that being said, what would prevent an Aluminess rear bumper, advertised for Chevy, from fitting a GMC of same model (1500-2500-3500)? :huh...
