Yes, I understand and the process is similar to Baja. No issues when we did Baja w/ the same rig. I doubt we're any heavier than a lot of other vehicles so I think we'll be fine.

David. For the Baja trip we used https://www.vagabundos.com/ on this trip we're using https://mexinsurancestore.com/ I did a bit of shopping around and tried to pay attention to who the underwriters were and that they had good ratings. I guess I won't know for sure unless we have an issue.

It can't be that uncommon but we'll see. I don't remember what (or if) we did anything when we went to Baja. It was easy. In Idaho, the FWC isn't registered (no license or registration) so I'm not sure if that matters.

I leave mine half way popped up (back end) in my garage. I can't get the full camper popped up now that I have a taller truck. I keep the door opened, etc. It sits in there most of the winter. I don't take it off the truck so I keep a battery maintainer on the truck battery and on the camper...

I applaude you for doing this yourself. I went the "easy" way and had ATC do it while I was passing through on a road trip. In my mind it was cheaper, less stressful, etc. and I got new jacks, etc.

Good info Kelly. One thing for me to consider (and maybe others; or this might be a question) is that on my windshield, above the rear-view mirror, it's blacked out. My mirror has a ton of functionality built it so that may be the reason so I doubt I can mount a camera there.
