    Rubber seal replacement

I don't think those "seals" are your issue. Those really are just to cover the screw / bolt heads. You may want to remove each bolt and use some silicon (or whatever you prefer) in there though.

    $1000 Rods? An opinion

Probably true what he states but there are other things to consider with customer service being the primary one. The other thing I'd say is that a Hugo and a Ferrari are both cars and will get you from point a to b (well, maybe not the Hugo) and they both really do the same thing just at a...

    Dometic furnace sail switch rehash/update

I know the issue of the sail switches had probably been beaten to death but I hate to be stuck without spare parts so I was going to get a 33081 as a spare. As I researched, iT seems like there's now another option, the 36160. I don't know if the just renumbered the 33081 to reduce confusion...

Conversion of Canvas top to Hard walls

A few thoughts. I had ATC replace my vinyl at one point on my older Eagle. Did great work, quickly too. The one thing to consider is how the windows and flaps are done now. I had issues w/ the seams on the ATC (this was 10 years ago) around the windows channeling water along the seams and...

FWC HAWK Blue Fabric Cushion Cover (King set)

Seems fair to me, but for a backup set it probably doesn't make sense for me. I hope it finds a good home!

FWC HAWK Blue Fabric Cushion Cover (King set)

I might be interested to use these as a backup as we have a King/blue setup. Pop me an email and let me know what you want for them. I really have no idea on making an offer as I don't know what they are worth to you (or me really). Thanks, Kevin

    Diesel Heater in Your Camper?

I've seen a lot of discussion on these over the years and if you google it, there's a whole forum called something like "Chinese diesel heaters" and apparently the brand most people use are from China.

    Death Valley with Friends

KP, I'm confused. I thought you sold your flatbed? Either way, looks awesome. We thought about heading down to DV but the thought of rain, etc. kept us home. We've been to DV too many times when everything was closed (of course, we've also been there when it's been great). Kevin

    The 70th Birthday Adventure - November 2022

Nice report as always.... maybe we should all have milestone trips once a year! :-)

Harvest Hosts? Any experiences out there?

We used a few spots in our FWC. They state (I think) that your supposed to be self-contained. We had no issues (and we weren't) but we basically pulled in, went into the businesses, bought some items, used the restroom, etc. and then hung out by the camper for the evening, etc. and then...

    Baja, Mexico Adventure Report

I think someone posted a "pin" for beluga and since I'm away for Xmas can't find my details but will if you don't get a response. I can't find much about Playa Esmerelda although I know there used to be one that closed a while back. Maybe they re-opened but if you have any more info, I may put...

    Baja, Mexico Adventure Report

Nice. I will say that in Baja, if you go into Baja Sur, there's always been a discussion on what type of diesel they have (or don't have) so we usually take a some jerry cans, fill them up just in case. Pemex for years had said they are converting to ULSD but who knows if the stations actually...

Anybody retro fit their FWC with jack mounts?

Frank. Yes. They tap into the corners which are the alum. sub-frame. I think there are 8 per corner (4 on each "corner"; might be more I don't remember). I was kind of surprised too but I've not heard of many issues, etc.

Anybody retro fit their FWC with jack mounts?

I'd say you need to determine how much you'll take your camper on/off. If it's more than a few times a year, don't mess with tripod jacks. Call FWC or ATC and they'll tell you they aren't the most stable, etc. Even if they use them, they proably only use them when a camper comes in w/o jack...

Any ATCs in the Boise Idaho area

I don't have an ATC but have had a lot of dealings with them and visited them a few times for repairs on an older FWC Eagle over the years. I had nothing but a great experience with them too. You won't find many differences in their campers than those of FWC's from years past. There are some...

    Color of strip along FWC's?

Anyone found (or know) a matching color for the strip (grey or black? ) on the FWC's so I can match my cargo box? I would like to spray paint a strip of that color to match the camper. It always seemed to be (on my older Eagle) that the color was black but looking at this closer, it almost...

    Harsh winter Grandby build

I made alum backing plates above and below those mounting points and upgraded all the eye bolts, etc. to grade 8. If you are doing it now, it's easier and never worry about it again. I also added similar plates above and below the truck bed and upgraded the turnbuckles so they can't come lose.

    Truck - Camper Breaker Question

I'm definately not an expert but if you are going to run 4awg and then use something to reduce that to 6awg, don't you lose some of the benefits you are trying to achieve by doing that?

    CO2/ propane detector going off

Interesting that they have a date on it (manufacture date) as I thought that the "timer" went off once you powered it up the first time but, maybe they test them after manufacture so that date is simultaneous with build and test. Would make sense and lead me to checking the boxes before...

    Future FWC Hawk owner...

Welcome and as Vic correctly stated, "the cult" :-). When I ordered my new camper, I was able to do a battery delete and then put my DIY LifePO4 in... easy to do and since you know what a multi-meter is, it's easy once you figure out what all the wires are (tracking where they all go). I will...
