If you are using the trucks alternator to charge your battleborn, you are going to want to get a DC-to-DC charger. The LifePO4 batteries will eventually damage your trucks alternator.

You can use either the ML or the SL version. I have one I'm selling if you are interested. Some where in this thread I think I posted the differences.

I would not use that option given how far you are travelling. I would set your truck up with eye bolts, etc. Rent, use or borrow jacks and do the install right given how far you are going; you may hit rain and/or wind so why take the chance. The time difference on install might be an hour?
