RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Well... I did it... time to upgrade to a flatbed and new truck.

We've ordered a new Hawk Flatbed about a month ago.... in the queue for everything.... In the meantime, I've ordered a 1 ton, Chevy 3500 Duramax and will try to patiently wait for it... this is a crazy world we live in right now and who knows about the timing of the camper, truck, tray.... I...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Blown airbag

I'll chime in a bit here... I have air springs on my EcoDiesel and concerned about failures on long trips to Mexico, Baja, etc. I installed heavy duty springs so the air springs don't do a lot but I still use them more as a levelling tool. My camper is on full time so it's a bit easier for me...

I definately will run thicker guage wiring from the truck to the flatbed hawk but since I don't have either the truck or the camper yet.... How and where does the flatbed wiring enter the camper? RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West New FWC's have 10awg wire internally, why have a thicker wire from truck?

The only thing is they run 10 awg from the truck battery to the camper and then the camper has all 10awg. Doesn't matter in this scenario other than making sure that you get less voltage drop from the truck to the camper (at least that's what I'm thinking).

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West New FWC's have 10awg wire internally, why have a thicker wire from truck?

I was inquiring about running a 6awg wire from the truck battery to my (someday) new hawk flatbed and asked what they do at the factory. They replied that the internal wiring inside the camper is 10awg; which they use from the truck battery to the camper. If that's true, the only benefit I...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West LiFePo4 charging profile fo Renogy Li Needed

The BMS will control everything and shutoff charging at what ever you set all the different parameters off at. It's crazy how many parameters there are but probably only a dozen that you might set/change.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West LiFePo4 charging profile fo Renogy Li Needed

I went through this about a year ago when I built and installed a 120ah LifePO4 battery. Depending on what BMS you have, there are a lot of parameters you can set, etc. I can't tell you exactly what I set mine to, but check out Will Prouse Solar site and he talks a lot about how to charge...
