RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Cowboy Kent's Cuban (brick) sandwich

I've always thought they were called cubano's. We use a cast iron skillet to "squash" it, not a brick :-)

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Dealer Gives Our Truck Away

Ok, so it's strange to me. How come the person picking up the truck didn't know it wasn't the their truck? I'd ask for lifetime oil changes and an extended warranty. At min, they should pay you for miles driven (what ever the going rate is) since you had wear and tear on the vehicle PLUS the...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West FWC Single Sheet Roof "Tin Canning"...Why?

Realistically, if people want FWC to resolve this, that's probably the only recourse. Whether or not people want to litigate is another question. If there was an easy answer, I do think FWC would have addressed it. It's not an easy fix as each unit would have to have the roof removed...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Mainland Mexico?

We did it a few years ago (2019) in late Dec. and returned late Feb (2 months). Went down to where the monarch butterflies migrate too; past Mexico city. Overall, no issues at all. It does take some planning but that's more for logisitcs of crossing the boarder and getting a permit. No...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Fantastic Fan upgrade kit

One thing I'll add. Not sure if it's possible but I'm pretty sure it is... Fantastic fan customer service is terrible. I had issues and had to fight tooth and nail for them to stand behind their product. Might check out alternatives.MaxxAir :-)

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Should I avoid a Fleet/Tacoma combo because of overweight?

A lot of people have done this and I had an Eagle on a Dakota and then a EcoDiesel (both 1/2 ton). While the truck did ok with the weight (albeit over-weight) we had put on HD springs/coils, E-rated tires, etc. Eventually I couldn't take the risks and sold the rig(s) and bought a 1 ton. So...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Another Incident in Death Valley

I want to know what the fine, etc. is and that they actually get something substantial and not the standard, $100 fine, 1 week in jail (reduced to 0 for stupidity).

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West No Jack Brackets

Like others stated, you can rent those cable jacks; that's what I did. Also, if you want to eventually get jacks and brackets, I found it most economical to have ATC put the brackets on and buy the jacks (they come with the brackets ; or used to) and just price of the brackets made it an easy...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Had the FWC stove recall done

Mine is a 2022. I would think if you have the SDS2, it's been recalled. I couldn't get in the camper to watch the install but the guy pull the stove out in about 30 seconds and I assume you could do that and see if the bracket to hold the part in, is installed. I looked at the 3333AST and it...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West FWC Stove Replacement

Ratings aren't that great on that stove and I don't know what the btu output is on the stock vs. this one. I also am not sure if it's a direct replacement or if you'll have to enlarge the cutout?

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Had the FWC stove recall done

Well, that's done... It took a while for the local "authorized" dealer to "find" the part after it was sent to them but once they found it (took a few weeks), I made an appointment to get it installed. It literally took about 15mins. BTW, I contacted Suburban, filled out their paperwork...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West FWC Single Sheet Roof "Tin Canning"...Why?

After reading many of the comments (but not all) here's my take, views, options, concerns, etc...... If the original roof design (with screws) didn't have this issue AND the new model has the same roof structure, then the problem is the adhesive. If the original roof design (with screws)...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West 2023 Hawk furnace problem.

They can't just put any heater (or other equipment) in a camper. The equipment has to be certified. I'm sure it's a libility issue and why you don't see them putting in some of the diesel heaters, etc.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Train Derailment

The sad part (there are many) is that when agencies want to transport toxic waste, etc. they claim that a derailment or other disaster could never happen (or very unlikely) to justify it. Then when it happens and people suffer from it (directly or indirectly) there are other "excuses". You can...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West FWC Single Sheet Roof "Tin Canning"...Why?

A lot of good info and suggestions but I'm not going to resolve this issue by putting any holes in my roof. I've had too many water issues (at my house) and not going to let a leaking roof ruin any camping trips. It's probably never going to happen but with my old Eagle, the maintenance and...
