RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West MaxxAir fan green LED and audible alarm

I've found a few nuanuces on the maxxair fan that I wish they'd rethink. Don't get me wrong, I'd take this fan over fantastic fan any day (customer service at fantastic is terrible, etc.). Here's a few things I've learned, found out, etc. The rain sensor only works if you turn the fan on...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West DC/DC Charger Location

I've got the smaller 18amp charger mounted in a flatbed hawk and thus in a confined space. I've not checked to see how warm/hot it gets when driving but I haven't seen any degradation of the charging and will try to remember to check it next time on an extended road triop.

It looks like you have a RAM and I did something similar... I sold the truck and can't find a picture but I took the cable out of the tailgate, attached it to the bracket of the back to give me a longer cable. I then made a "bracket" out of a piece of 2x4 and cut it to the correct angle. I...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Bears Ears (made it home)

Great trip to Bears Ears, Utah. We've wanted to go for years and made it happen this year. 2 weeks on the road was great. A little bit of everything; hiking, ruins, pictorgraphs, warm weather (some rain and which allowed us to see waterfalls coming off the red rock) and never cold, thunder...

Thanks everyone for the well wishes and suggestions; it's very much appreciated. No news yet but I'll enjoy the trip and time... I'll try to do a report when I get back later in the month (have to be back for an oncology appointment). Headed out from Boise in about an hour! Kevin

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West After a long wait, we're finally going to Bear's Ears

It's been a long time in the process; a new truck, flatbed, etc. and many, many nights out camping (we can do anywhere from 60 - 100 nights/year) and exploring AND almost a year long diagnosis of cancer and treatment (on-going) we're finally headed out tomorrow to Bear's Ears. I'm still going...

Pretty sure I know where you were as we've backpacked up into that area. That road can be so bad. I'm glad you didn't ID the lake(s) but just the general area. Let others research, plan, explore and find their "magical" places.

i've not been into Phyllis but spent a bit of time in Chamberlain before it became a Nat. Monument. We actually have a friend who was instrumental in getting that done, met with Obama when the document was signed (got a pen, etc. too).

that's where the eye bold normally goes... I wonder if there was a catastrophic failure there at one point.... Use large, alum, backer plates and heavy duty grade 8? eye bolts and turnbuckles (if you aren't mounting directly to the bed). The picture of my (partial) turnbuckle was prior to...

I guess you could save a bit since the neg terminal on the battery goes to the frame. When I ran my wire though, it was a 2 strand wire but never thought about just purchasing a single strand wire and then buying a shorter piece for ground. The benefit would be that you could run a thicker...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Dealer Gives Our Truck Away

I guess it depends on how it was driven, etc. You have no idea unless you had/have a dash cam or something else. I'm not sure what the going rate for mileage deductions is but even at $1/mile that's another $150. Resolution seems ok but I would have been a bit more "stubborn" :-). Think...
