Good luck to them. They are workign in a niche market and not sure wha thte success rate is of these type of re-launches under a new name is but it's got to be low. I'm not sure I'd put that kind of money down knowing (or thinking) that their chance of being around in a few years is pretty low.

Having been to Baja > 50 times I say it depends on where you are going? If you plan on going offroad, not having a 4x4 will limit you. As others stated, have a full size spare, take filters, tools, etc. If you don't have mechanical skills I would say that going off-road shouldn't be on your...

I wanted to add storage under my Eagle but the cost to do something in alum. was too expensive and with 2x4" there really isn't much space. We added some steps to the hitch to help us get into our camper. It must be 3' off the ground (20" rims, etc.).

I did it and love it. Just raised it with a 2x4" platform and built some side access doors that lock (out of wood so not that secure) along the sides in the bed. I like that it's a bit more aerodynamic behind the cab of the truck. I have the 6.5' bed so can't kee the tailgate on.

Just a warning? Come on. I speed, I get a ticket. He broke the law... sure he paid (not sure how much it cost to get him out) but I don't care. People need to start using their head and not go where you aren't supposed to go.

When I was looking for jacks and brackets (and installation) it was by far cheaper to go to FWC or ATC and get new jacks and have them put the brackets on. The brackets alone were about 30% (I don't remember exactly but it was a larger part of the cost) of the overall price so it didn't make...

I don't have an exact tally but we spent about 200 nights (2 long trips; 2.5 months and 2 months). I doubt we'll ever break that.

I've been down there in the snow/rain/etc. and that stuff is slick. We got out with 2 4x4 trucks but one did have a little "incident". I bet that red clay is still underneath those trucks (where ever they are now).

I agree with others about the confined space for 3 in an Eagle (which we have). It's 2 of us and 1 dog and it works fine but if replace the dog w/ a person, the bench/bed might be an issue. We have no problems w/ 2 people sleeping up top. Not much "working" room in the camper and we have...

Good info. From my research though, Ford and Ram aren't that easy to beef up the rear suspension. Chevy/GMC are leaf springs so adding another leaf would be easier (at least that's what I think I was reading).

Or another way to ask that (which I'm trying to figure out) is which platform (truck) is easiest to effectively make a 1 ton truck on a 3/4 ton platform. The biggest difference I can see is that the differential may be larger and some trucks have suspension that isn't easily upgraded. The one...

I posted on the 'for sale' thread... sorry. End of the day, if you are close to ATC or FWC I would have them replace the canvas. Check the boards too, easy to do when the roof is off and if there are any issues, do it now...check the insulation, wiring, etc. too when the roof is off.

I don't have an ATC panther but I have an older FWC Eagle which is the same I think. I could talk for hours on the pros/cons but as Wandering Sagebrush stated, ATC is great and so is FWC.

I doubt it as I'm not sure there was much solar used in 2004 and certainly mine doesn't have the wiring (2002). As someone else mentioned, that switch near the back door is for the outside light. I have one outlet too and frankly, don't use it much. I wired some usb ports to the camper...
