RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West New Hallmark Milner

Looks great. My neighbors have one too.... btw, I wondered about Hallmarks bankruptcy and as I suspected it really was to protect themselves from a supplier... (I won't comment on that practice) but they are in the clear again and the filing has been dismissed: Hallmark Manufacturing...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Baja tick concern

I'm not sure I want to open that link but I will say that in the many, many times over the years I have gone to Baja, I don't ever remember seeing any ticks on any of my dogs or myself (or friends).

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Entry door window issue

I think most of us with FWCs that have been on rough roads, etc. over the years had this issue. My resolution was to take the frame off and as Vic noted the tabs had broken on the bottom. The fix for me was to rotate the frame 180 degrees as the tabs on the top we fine :-) I wish I had...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Black Friday/Cyber Monday anyone get a deal?

Some "killer" LifePO4 battery deals. If you google the advantages they are many and probably the last battery you'd ever buy assuming you don't overcharge it. Lighter, smaller, etc., etc.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Battleborn batteries on sale

Just saw this if anyone is looking for a new battery: B-Stock Battery SALE | Battle Born Batteries ' and these are on sale too (maybe black friday will have others) RV/Van/Camper Batteries - Lithium Iron Phosphate (LiFePO4) For Superior Safety and Performance (epochbatteries.com)

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Steps up/down from bed

I remember a similar thread a few years (or so) ago about this. Not sure if you can find it but there were some great ideas (ladders that slide along the edge of the bed, etc.).

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Free for a reason- Hawk restoration/renovation

Curious why no electrical in the walls? I assume because of potential heat loss but having a lot of electrical in the roof means that the wire will be stressed (granted only a little) each time you raise/lower the roof. I've seen on some campers, the wiring that goes down along the push...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West From propane to diesel, a heater installation

Nice progress. I'm sure many people have had the conversation with FWC about furnance options (like me) and have received the same answer. If there was an approved / certified RV furnace they would have used it by now. You'd think some company would recognize this "gap" in RV furnaces and...

Good point but when I have cell coverage, I'm not sure how much my zoleo will be powered on. I did "sign up" but haven't seen any email (could have missed it). How long does it normally take to receive something? Thanks.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Canvas Replacement Material

I would add that if you do it yourself, make sure you see/test the window installation of newer models of FWC and ATC and maybe others. There are some good and some design flaws that make water leakage more problematic. I'd also see if I could add thicker material on the corner edges (where it...

This looks great. I'm just in the process of signing up my Zoleo and think this is a great idea. Hopefully, the number of messages is minimal as I won't have a large number of texts/month quota initially.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West How to access driver-side front elevator bolt

This is what I did on my older (now sold) Eagle w/ the backer plates, etc. It won't help getting the old ones out but I'd recommend you put backer plates on the truck bed and on the camper. Easy to make (I just bought some alum and drilled hole, squared it out for the bolt).

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Replacing 2 AGMs with 1 100Ah LiFePO4?

I'm not sure what the amp rating is on your 2 AGM's but you may lose a bit of storage but depending on your electrical usage, you might be ok. I'm assuming the LifePO's you are purchasing will come with a BMS too and if that's the case, make sure you set that up correctly and you should be fine...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Lolo Motorway

Yes, very fun ride and experience... we'd go as far as the 4 of us (and 3 dogs) would go each day, find a great campsite, etc. Water is the main issue. You fill up and filter it when you can find it along the way/trail. There are some lakes, etc. that you can find and we spent a few nights...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West An Adventure to Celebrate Our 40th Annivesary - September 2023

That app/software is pretty cool. I was going to download it for some of our pictures but it seems to require a cost and not sure we'd use it enough to justify the cost. Do you use the phone version or the laptop version? Easy to use? thanks.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Lolo Motorway

We did this route a few years ago with 4 people on mountain bikes. We took turns driving so there were 3 people on bikes, 1 driving. Great trip. Took a week, stayed at the lookout for 2 nights. Lots of planning, etc. but it was great. We didn't go until late July and the road was only...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West delete

If you were near Boise, here's what I had on my truck. We went to a flatbed so this doesn't work anymore. The bottom step can be removed and there's a handrail that also can be added or removed. It's really heavy duty. If anyone wants it, I'll sell it for $75 but you'll have to pick it up.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Turnbuckle confusion

I would get some new turnbuckles that have a threaded nut on the end (see picture) as they won't come off and get high grade hardware. Put large "washers" / backer plates rather than the little washers used from the factory. The pictures attached are from my Eagle and before I replaced the eye...
