It'll be interesting to see what the issue turns out to be or if they'll just swap a new one in.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West 2023 Hawk furnace problem.

I've asked them about this... they are in a bind. They can't use some of the other options as they aren't certified to be used in campers, etc. I'm sure they'd switch to another furnace if they could.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Mormon Cricket Stories

I was at the Idaho/Nevada border a few weeks ago and the Idaho Transportation Dept was using a snowplow to scrap them off the highway! Sparks, burnt crickets and a really bad smell.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West 2023 Hawk furnace problem.

Would having the duct attached cause the ignition to not fire up? I could see it firing up and then shutting down.... It sounds like you did exactly what I'd do... you can confirm the gas is working by lighting the stove. I had an issue a few months ago and when I tried to light the stove, it...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Mule Coffee - Amos Approves!

They are a local "legend" here in Boise. The owner of Richard the mule, will go up into the foothills and have coffee available! Richard loves carrots btw so if you see him, bring carrots. The owner, has recently acquired another mule (forget his name) but it's so much fun to hike or mtn bike...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West FWC Single Sheet Roof "Tin Canning"...Why?

I was just out 303'ing my vinyl...found something very interesting while doing the inside windows. If I push slightly on the drivers side, rear of the vinyl from the inside, it tin-cans. The other windows didn't do it. Now the caveot... I was on a slight incline towards that corner...

We have the same on our flatbed and used botls but love the ease of it compared to ladders, etc. The only thing is you still have to be careful bending over to get ou the door and down the first few steps :-)

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West FWC Single Sheet Roof "Tin Canning"...Why?

I personally would take a 1 piece roof over a 2 piece (with screws and a seam) even with the "tin canning".... I bet there are a few cases where the 2 piece roof leaked and having one with screws and the amount of maintenance required, I'll take the 1 piece.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West FWC Single Sheet Roof "Tin Canning"...Why?

The issue is that you can't get the roof line off without taking the roof and vinyl off. The roof fabric is tucked up along the edges (or used to be).

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West FWC Single Sheet Roof "Tin Canning"...Why?

I hear you and maybe your FWC is older but mine is about a year old. If it's a bad design or a failure of a component, etc. it's still under warantee. FWC has been great about fixing and repairing things over the years. That's why we own them and love them. I would expect that if I bought a...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West FWC Single Sheet Roof "Tin Canning"...Why?

I was kind of wondering this same thing. I would suspect the camper would have to go back to the factory and it'd probably take the better part of a day and if they have to remove the top and roof I wonder about the vinyl? I think I'll probably video mine next time it's doing it so I'll have a...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West update on the driving a FWC with stock suspension trip

It sounds like you made great decisions. I get why people don't do it (cost) but the cost is worth it and makes a lot of difference (as you noticed).

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West FWC Single Sheet Roof "Tin Canning"...Why?

Even if it was covered under warantee, they'd have to remove the whole roof (maybe) and it get on the 'work bench'. Then remove the top layer and reapply either the tape or some other adhesive and then re-install. Could be at least a day's worth of work. I'm also not sure if they vinyl would...

Great info Rick! Thank you. We've had to postpone an early season trip (health) and hopefully can do it in the Fall. We have the rig in my picture (4x4, etc.) and prefer more seculded camping areas, etc. away from crowds if possible! Kevin

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West FWC Single Sheet Roof "Tin Canning"...Why?

Stan, You'll probably get a few responses and not sure exactly how to handle my situation but my 1 year old Flatbed Hawk (which I assume is a newer model so glued insulation) tin cans quite a bit in windy situations. I don't have anything on the roof, 2 vents, etc. I doubt I'm the only one...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West WTB: camper jacks

You could probably buy new and have them shipped (free) unless you can find something on craigslist (or other online marketplace). I serarched for quite a while and turned out it was cheaper to buy them from the factory (was driving near and just tossed them in the camper) and had them put the...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West FWC Single Sheet Roof "Tin Canning"...Why?

Just joining in on this thread. I have a 2022 Hawk Flatbed. I've had this issue since day 1. Nothing on the roof. I do have 2 vents and not sure if it's an issue or more common with 2 vents? It only happens w/ the wind blowing so I'm assuming the roof is being pushed up slightly. I don't...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Bears Ears; last minute planning

We're thinking about hitting the road for a week or so in Bears Ears. Since we're currently "dogless" it seems like a good time to visit and we can do some hikes, etc. w/o having to worry about a dog. So, any suggestions of areas we shouldn't miss, best places to camp, hikes, etc.? If you'd...
