    Bears and food question

Habituated bears will if they see a cooler but as long as they don't smell the dog food you'll probably be ok. Charlie Sent from my iPhone using Wander The West

I've got an Aluminess and really like it, deluxe box on one swing out and spare on the other. I have a trasharoo on the spare and use it for things other than trash sometimes as well. Charlie Sent from my iPad using Wander The West

No, I bought the towers myself, but you were close. I just remembered it's to the Titan Rod Vault I have on my rack to hold my fly rods. Duh.

With flush mounted appliances I have room for a plastic container strapped to the countertop while I travel that adds extra storage space. I toss it on the bed when I'm using the stove. Charlie Sent from my iPhone using Wander The West

    Door Lock

My purple, not black, plastic covered key is for the black locks. I can't find a place where the black one works.

    First Longer Trip advice appreciated!

Last year I did a similar trip only north up the coast from SoCal and missed some views. The downside of views on the right is that you are often driving on the side with the sudden drop. ;) Charlie Sent from my iPhone using Wander The West

    First Longer Trip advice appreciated!

I just did a similar trip except from Atlanta. I'd suggest going south down the coast, that way all the viewpoints are on the right and easier to get in/out of. Also keep in mind any mountain passes you need to cross, weather could be a factor. Charlie Sent from my iPhone using Wander The West

    Door Lock

I got a key with a purple plastic cover on the top part that works both locks on my black handle (I don't use those locks either but I just went and checked). I also got a deadbolt key, a water supply key and one with black plastic on it that I have no clue what it's for. Mine is a late 2014 Eagle.

Automatic Charge Relay - How to Improve your battery isolator

Thanks Ron. DrJ - I will probably end up installing the switch but that will be a future project, for now I just want to see if I get better charging from the truck.

Automatic Charge Relay - How to Improve your battery isolator

DrJ, I went ahead and got the BlueSea 7622. I'm assuming I can just cap off the switch wires if I want to install it without the switch and then install the switch later? I haven't decided yet where I want to locate the switch but would like to get the SurePower replaced before Expo East. Thanks.

    Insulation Ideas for Poptops

The air space between the arctic pack and the vinyl provides some insulation. I have camped in my Eagle a number of times down into the 20's and been comfortable, albeit with the furnace running. I did cut Reflectix panes for the windows and have a sheet of it under the mattress for a little...

    Laptop

Kind of Apple's to oranges (pun intended) but my MBP has 16G RAM and a 2.8 GHz Core i7. An SSD makes a huge difference as well, and you'll probably want a decent graphics processor. Mainly, though, you'll want as much RAM and as fast a hard drive as fits in your budget for running PS and LR.

When I used to do windows I used Dells but I'm not familiar with their current lineup. I'd look there first, though.

    Laptop

Can't help you with not breaking the bank, but I travel with a 15" MBP Retina and an external 1TB GDrive for storage. Runs LR and PS great and the GDrive is fast enough that it doesn't slow me down processing. When I get home I just plug the drive into my iMac and import the files into my main...

Similar to what I got on my Eagle. I ended up adding a 2nd powered roof vent and more solar (mine only had 100w). I also have the rear spots which I rarely use, but I have spots as backup lights in my rear bumper so I have plenty of light backing up at night anyway. I also have the outside...

    Discado cooker

The carry bag is nice and I'll bet your legs fit in it too whereas the Skottle legs are too long. My wife uses the lid a lot too but I'd imagine you could find the equivalent easily enough. Nice job. Charlie Sent from my iPad using Wander The West

Automatic Charge Relay - How to Improve your battery isolator

Cool DrJ, this is a mod I am interested in. So it's (except of the switch) pretty much a direct replacement for the SurePower - no additional connections to the truck? Also, are you still using the 10ga wire from the alternator or did you upgrade that too? Thanks.
