RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Geezer card increase

I have saved over $80 this year alone with mine just for camping.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Replacement caps for water fill and sink drain

I found a brass hose cap online that I used to replace my plastic one. The brass cap has a bead chain keeper and my plastic ones kept breaking in the cold.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Overweight: Your perspective

I have a Tacoma with a fully loaded Eagle as well as an ARB front bumper w/winch and an Aluminess rear with deluxe box and spare carrier. I have upgraded my tires and suspension. My truck is my daily driver and my camper is on full time. The truck handles well and most importantly brakes well. I...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Propane compartment question

No way I'd lock the propane cabinet door and keep emergency people from access to the tanks. If you are worried about theft use a cable lock on the tanks(s). Also not that the door is pretty flimsy to begin with so it would not be very secure even if you had a lock on it.

The CG in Guadalupe Mountains NP in west Texas literally is a parking lot. Pretty place though.

This is at Overland Expo, not a good destination if you want to be alone. [emoji6]

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Dogs and screens

I like the grillwork better, allows ventilation and I don't have to figure out where to put it since it's always on the door. I think I'll do something similar for the window screen.

I got one of the panels at Home Depot and put it on. It's a little too big but will do fine until I get home.

Sadly I left his nylabone at home. It's not his favorite though, he's more of a free range chewer.

I use bitter apple at home and he has chew toys, I just can't keep an eye on him and drive at the same time. It's a process.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Dogs and screens

Yep, I've been thinking about a kick panel too and that looks like a good solution. He chewed up the buckles on my camera backpack this morning, he gets bored on long drives. I guess I'll have to move everything but him to the front seat. ;)

He's not freaking out, just doesn't let things like screens get in his way. In both cases he was just laying there and poked through with a paw. He did get bored when we were driving and chewed up a leash and poop bag holder - hard to keep an eye on him and the road at the same time. [emoji6]

I've got some pet screen at home left over from doing the screen porch and I'm working on training but it will be 3 or more weeks until I am back. Hopefully I won't run out of either patience or Gorilla Tape. [emoji6]

That's kind of what I figured for the door as long as it's not so tall I can't reach the latch. Thanks.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Dogs and screens

I am on an extended trip with our new rescue and so far he has pushed the screen out of the side window and torn the lower panel on the door. Anyone got any clever ideas to stop or protect against this kind of carnage? I have managed to patch things with gorilla tape since I need the...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Dometic 65L power/current draw

They have switched brands to Isotherm and I understand they are more efficient than Dometic.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Dometic 65L power/current draw

My Dometic is vented and I added a second fan and it still sucks power although not as bad as before. I keep the fridge full and the door seal is good so I doubt it will get any better.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Dometic 65L power/current draw

My 'solution' was to up my solar to 300w since I also run my laptop and cell booster fairly often. I also have a Honda 2000 generator that I carry when I may be camping in the shade a lot but I don't much like to use it. I understand the Isotherm's are much better on current draw and down the...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Dometic 65L power/current draw

The Dometic 65 is a power hog, pure and simple. I used to have an Engle 45 and my 60w foldable solar panel would keep it running for a week at a time in the desert; it takes about 200w of solar to keep the Dometic going. I did add a second fan, which helps, but it still draws way more power than...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Honda 2000 Generator/Shore Power

I take my Honda 2000 along when I think I will camp for a few days in shade or if it's supposed to be cloudy a significant amount of time. I never run it after dark or early in the am as I don't much like listening to them either. They are down the list irritating-wise from people who think I...
