I can appreciate the pre med joke, the two groups of students we had to watch closest for cheating were athletes who had to get a C and pre meds who had to get an A. Both groups were equally shameless. Charlie Sent from my iPad using Wander The West

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West How Cold Is Too Cold for a Hawk Water System?

I've camped into the low teens in my Eagle. I also ran the heater at night and didn't have any issues. I tend to keep on the move during the day photographing things so the water in my camper never sits very long without being heated and I expect the motion (and sunlight) helps keep it from...

I have two purple topped keys that came with my 2014 Eagle that unlock the 'black lock'. Those are the only keys that came with my camper that had plastic tops, I also got a small one for my water supply and a larger one for the separate deadbolt. FWIW

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Reducing weight

I carry a Hi-Lift but I wouldn't change a tire with it. If you intend to use it for recovery get a lift mate and an offroad base for it too. I know, those aren't suggestions for reducing weight. ;)

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Bears and food question

Bear spray is a deterrent only when sprayed a the bear's face. Spraying it around your campsite is just seasoning. Be careful with your dogs, though, they aggravate bears. And if you hike anywhere keep talking as you go and beware of thickets, bears are hyperphagic and will be gorging...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Bears and food question

I camp in bear country all the time and keep food in my camper. If you follow food storage guidelines for the area and keep a clean camp you are more likely to have an accident on the road getting to camp than you are to have a bear incident in camp. If you really want to avoid bears in WY and...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West First Longer Trip advice appreciated!

I fished Rock Creek a few years ago and agree, it's a great area to fish and camp. I remember one pool that had a cliff face on the far side and I was casting a hopper up against the cliff and letting it drop in the water and caught a brown on every cast. A good place to try for a trout grand...

Get in some casting practice and then get a guide for half a day, they'll generally give you pointers and put you on some fish. Make sure you let them know your skill level so they will be patient.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Bears and food question

Same is true if a bear wants in your house - it will get in. Bears will also break into vehicles that have no food in them. The only surefire solution is to avoid bear country, which is most of the US. ^_^

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Bears and food question

Most times I have been in areas with problem bears there are bear boxes in the campgrounds you can use. Even the sight of a water bottle can get them thinking there's food to be had. I camp in black bear country a lot and grizzly country some and a key is a clean campsite. If you come up to a...
