RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West New batwing awning

FWC sell Eezi Awn ones now. They don't mount to the top of the pop up part but to the body of the camper in the same place the Fiamma ones do.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Tire Recommendations

I have LT 265/70R17-E BFG All Terrain KO2's on my Tacoma/Eagle combo and really like them for both on and off road. Not quite as quiet as regular highway tires but not that noisy either.

That's why I took out my surepower as well and put in a Bluesea APC.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Is my Tacoma adequate to pickup up my new Fleet?

I had air bags and E rated tires when I picked up my Eagle on my 2015 TRD Sport. I ended up adding an OME lift with the heavy springs front and back and an extra leaf in the rear to get the ride I liked (I also added ARB front and Aluminess rear bumpers which added to the weight). With just the...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Meanwhile in Utah

I hate to punish them too, but somebody voted those clowns into office and hate to help pay their salaries via sales or gasoline tax. If the locals don't feel a bit of a pinch and do something about their own state I don't know who can. It's a lose lose situation either way IMO.

There are many businesses in Utah that I like to patronize but they or their neighbors voted those folks into office so I'll be spending in other states for a while.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Fleet height-need to count inches

With a 2" OME lift on my 2015 Tacoma the top of my Eagle is 85" including the vents/solar panel. Higher if I have my Yakima rack on the camper. My truck didn't settle much at all with the camper on, but I do have the heavy OME springs.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Fleet height-need to count inches

I have an Eagle (same height as Fleet) on a '15 Tacoma Crew Cab and the camper (including vent and solar) sticks up 15" higher than the cab top, 13" if you don't have any vents or solar.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Meanwhile in Utah

I don't like the idea of boycotting Utah since I love the scenery so much and have enjoyed my many trips there, but right now I think I will avoid the state entirely this year of at least make sure I get gas, groceries and supplies before I visit. If the local businesses can start putting...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Any experience with weBoost 4g cell phone boosters?

I have a side dinette and there is a small 'cabinet' above the window and I mounted the inside antenna on the side of it over the table, I use mine only when I'm in the camper and parket. I used silicone to attach a galvanized plate to the top rear of my camper above the door and mount my...

Engle makes a plug socket too, or at least they used to. I used one to wire my Engle 45 in the back of my FJ.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Treated myself to the New 2017 Dell XPS Laptop

Nice. I'm pretty happy with my 15" MBP but the main thing that keeps me with Apple is OS/X. If I were to go back to the dark side, though, that Dell would be my choice. Having a good laptop on the road is well worth the expense IMO.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Meanwhile in Utah

I have plans to visit Utah again this spring like I do every year but this time I'll stock up out of state so I spend as little as possible while I'm there. Maybe just a burger or two at Milt's Stop and Eat. ;)

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West RTIC Coolers

Amen to that. When I volunteered for a summer I had an Engle toploader in the back of my FJ and, since I only drove once or twice a week (45 miles to nearest town), I used a 60w foldable solar panel to keep the batteries topped off and never had a problem. Now I have 300w on top of my Eagle with...

Reverse engineering is often cheaper than R&D. I suppose if they could prove that they had never actually had their hands on a Yeti they might have a case.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Suggestions on how to mount MaxTrax?

I use a cable lock to secure my MaxTrax. It's amazing how much inconsequential stuff has 'disappeared' over the years and I tend to lock pretty much everything mounted on the outside of my truck these days, especially if it is pricey to replace.

I think they're trying to fly this (and other things) under the radar. All the other things going on make for a perfect opportunity to sneak by unnoticed.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Hi-Lift Jack Mounted on FWC

I have my Hi Lift mounted to my ARB front bumper. The jack itself is probably 40 years old; it was my wife's when we met and her dad had bought it for her when she got her first car. I first saw it when she asked me to help her change a tire - back when you could jack a car up on the bumper. I...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Anyone have a Swift on a Long Bed Tacoma or similar truck?

I have an Aluminess on my 2015 Taco/Eagle. Is it that they don't make a bumper extension for your truck or that the bumper itself wouldn't fit even with an extension?

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Anyone have a Swift on a Long Bed Tacoma or similar truck?

The Swift was designed for short (5') beds, so it's not 3" shorter than the bed it's designed for it's 10" longer. ;)
