RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Pays to be a Geezer. Proposed peak season NP pricing.

I agree that financial filtering is not in the spirit of the parks but I've also tried a number of times to 'win' lotteries 6 months in advance without success. In a lot of cases there are slots available locally by lottery as well on a day by day basis, but that also costs money for many folks...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Pays to be a Geezer. Proposed peak season NP pricing.

My problem with the lottery system (other than the fact that I have yet to ever 'win' a spot ;) ) is that folks who travel long distances to see the parks often can't hang around long enough to get in. Neither system is ideal; fees favor those who can afford them and the lottery favors those...

A secondary reason may be to reduce overcrowding.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West FWC not permitted at Washington State Park Tent sites

Sadly too, a lot of what were 'boondocking' places in the east are being posted no camping because they have been trashed by over use and under appreciation for the resource. :(

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West The Landscape Photography Thread

Went back up to the Smokies to see how the color had progressed in a week. Looks like the leaves that were showing some color last week were mostly down and not a lot of new ones changing. Had a nice crisp evening at camp with a great steak, mushroom and potato dinner on the Skottle, though. And...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Generator?

Here is the OSHA rule: Grounding Requirements for Portable and Vehicle-mounted Generators Under the following conditions, OSHA directs (29 CFR 1926.404(f)(3)(i)) that the frame of a portable generator need not be grounded (connected to earth) and that the frame may serve as the ground (in place...

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Rock rails versus Running boards

Sliders and running boards are two very different things. Sliders attach to the vehicle frame and, at least mine, don't stick down below it.

Check with CBI Offroad Fab and see if they have sliders for your truck. They make both bolt on and weld on sliders.

Take the Blue Ridge Parkway over to Cherokee if you have time. Looking Glass falls is a short way off the parkway as well if you like that sort of thing.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Nikon 18-200mm Should I Replace It?

Now that the D850 is out you should start seeing a number of used D800 and D810 for sale (and maybe D500's as well) and I expect the prices will drop as more and more hit the market.

RV LIFE Forum Hub, Wander The West Nikon 18-200mm Should I Replace It?

I haven't had a DX lens in years but my last one was a Sigma 10-20 and it was an excellent lens. If their 18-200 and 18-300 lenses are the same quality they might be something to look at.
